Show's first language is [[Chinese language|Chinese]], but he also speaks fluent [[Taiwanese language|Taiwanese]] and [[Japanese language|Japanese]].

Blonsky, who is currently a high school senior at the [[Great Neck Village School|Village School]] and has done local theatre at both [[Levels (youth center)]] and Great Neck South High School, beat out thousands of hopefuls for the role. She learned that she got the role from the producers via the internet at the [[Cold Stone Creamery]] where she also works during her afterschool hours. The announcement was also made public on the [[June 8]], [[2006]] edition of [[Entertainment Tonight]], which went to her workplace to film the surprise announcement.

When asked about having won the role of Tracy Turnblad, Blonsky responded by saying ''"I'm shaking. I'm surprised I'm still standing!"'' She also told the ''[[New York Daily News]]'' that she hopes to distinguish herself from [[Ricki Lake]] and [[Marissa Jaret Winokur]], both of whom she has respect for: ''"I'm not going to try to fill anybody's shoes - I'm going to try to create a new pair of shoes!"''

Show started playing drums at the tender age of 3 and performed onstage with his parents as a child. He won a silver award at a singing contest when he was only 7. Show entered the entertainment industry as a teenager, participating in pop groups Four Heavenly Kings and Romeo before moving on to acting and hosting. In 2003, Show launched his solo debut Show Time and has since captivated his fans with [[hip hop]], [[R&B]], and ballads, as well as collaborations with stars like [[Jolin Tsai]], [[Jay Chou]], and [[Joey Yung]].

Show's fourth album, Speshow, has just been released on [[November 17]], [[2006]]. Mando-pop fans not only get to enjoy his signature dance tracks, but also his first attempt at an English song, Twinkle, a duet with Japanese singer [[Koda Kumi]].
