Psi-com is the first band fronted by Perry Farrell (of Jane's Addiction, Lollapalooza, Porno for Pyros, and Satellite Party fame).
The band consisted of Perry Farrell, Aaron Sherer, Vince Duran, and Kelly Wheeler.
Perry Farrell came to join the band by answering an advertisement that the band was looking for a drummer. He auditioned and subsequently became their lead singer.
Record Info
Psi Com
The band released only one (self-titled) album. It was recorded at Radio Tokyo in March of 1985. It was originally released in July of 1985 on Mohini Records in a limited 1500 copy, vinyl only release. Unfortunately only about half of these records were actually printed correctly, and both variations are very, very rare on todays market, fetching between $3,000 and $10,000 depending on the venue.
The album was subsequently re-released by Triple X Records on CD in 1993.
The tracklisting is as follows:
1. Ho Ka Hey
2. Human Condition
3. Xiola
4. City of 9 Gates
5. Winds

The first song is titled "Ho Ka Hey." This is a Native American expression that was used by warriors to psych themselves up when heading into battle.
"Xiola," the third track on the album, is interesting in that it is the first time Perry discovers "the voice" that he would later use in Jane's Addiction. He uses a more low pitched voice on the rest of the album.
Psi Com Demos & Worktape 1
These were demo tapes recorded by the band. Copies circulate in the fan community.

Miscellaneous
*The cover of the album appears to be a photo of a person dancing. The person depicted is actually a corpse superimposed on a background.
*The symbol on the CD itself resembles a star, but it is actually a symbol, from Crowley's tarot cards, that represents male-female duality.
