Hi editors, just wanted to ask what I can do to improve my draft and write it in a way that is aligned with Wikipedia's guide and tone. Thank you! IanResearch (talk) 03:12, 28 August 2025 (UTC)
Hello,
:The draft just tells of the offerings and activities of the company; a Wikipedia article must do more, it must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the company, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable company.
I recently had an article rejected for reasons:
:The awards are meaningless towards establishing notability; for an award to contribute to notability, it must itself merit an article(like Nobel Peace Prize or Academy Award). 331dot (talk) 06:59, 28 August 2025 (UTC)

Please make sure to avoid peacock terms that promote the subject."

The draft has been declined multiple times. I have already revised the wording to make the tone more neutral, but it was still labeled as containing false information. Could you please review the draft and provide guidance on how to correct the issues and bring it in line with Wikipedia’s requirements? :I don't see where anyone has said it contains false information, but it does say that it appears to have been written by an AI/LLM.
And comment:

I am hoping that someone here can offer a specific example of what the editor is referring to, as I can find no examples in the text of any of the above. I am a professional writer, so can easily make the necessary amendments if I can have specific feedback as to what the editor considers to be a peacock term within the text, or what the editor considers to be a fringe theory, etc. Of course I read the pages linked in the editor's comments and as mentioned, cannot find any examples of them within my submitted text.

Hello Wikipedians, I'm kindly asking for advice. Many months ago, I created a draft on the Bihler company (Draft:Otto Bihler Maschinenfabrik). It has since been declined multiple times, but I don't quite understand why. It is said that WP:NCORP is not met. However, in that draft, I have demonstrated, using a source assessment table, why I believe that the Bihler company has been the subject of significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. I know that not every source that I have cited falls within the WP:SIRS criteria, but still, I feel that, the number of sources that do, is sufficient. It would be very helpful to have a second thought on this. Any advice is very much appreciated. Thank you! @ User:Novem Linguae. -- Casa Coto (talk) 08:37, 28 August 2025 (UTC)
:I haven't done a detailed analysis yet, but if other reviewers are still declining it, maybe your source assessment table is being too generous. Do all your sources have 3 meaty paragraphs of detail about the company? Are they independent (i.e. no press releases disguised as articles, no articles that are mostly quotations, no advertorials, etc)? Is at least one of the sources regional, national, or international? These are all things needed to pass WP:NCORP and WP:GNG. See also User:Novem Linguae/Essays/Nuances of GNG and User:Novem Linguae/Essays/Novem's words of wisdom #6. It's been 2 months since you submitted this... if you think it passes, maybe submit it again and add a comment asking for detailed source feedback in the event of a decline. Hope this helps. :* You list the Hesse source as secondary, but describe it as an encyclopedia. That means it's a tertiary source.
:* You assess four sources in total to meet the criteria of reliable, independent, and significant coverage. Those would be good sources, but...
:* it isn't clear that they provide significant coverage of the company, its products, the punch-bending process, or Otto Bihler himself. Those are four different topics, and this draft is about one topic. For example, the Kolbe source discusses the technology and how the machine works, but what about the company, which is the topic of this draft?

1. Two official announcements from the Duhok Governorate's website congratulating the radio on its anniversary.
2. A feature article about the radio in the well-known regional "Gulan Magazine" (Issue 829, 2010), which refers to it as the "authentic voice of the governorate."
Could an experienced editor please take a look at these sources and provide some feedback? I am struggling to understand why these are considered insufficient for notability. Specifically, I would like to know if the Gulan Magazine article is just a "brief mention" and what an example of an "in-depth" source would look like for a subject like this.

Information Access: It provides valuable information about legal services, resources, and expertise related to car accidents. Users can learn about their rights, the legal process, and how a lawyer can assist them. [7]
:An in depth source will, on its own, go into detail about the topic and discuss what they see as important/significant/influential about it- what makes it notable. I think there's a correlation between a product's popularity and how long it's been in development, and from what I understand, they've only been around for a short time. I am requesting assistance with my draft article Draft:Trinity_Private_School. Each word of the text was written manually without the use of AI tools. However, three times I received feedback that the draft was written by AI. I respectfully emphasize that I wrote the article myself, and therefore I ask you to indicate exactly which sentences or parts appear to you as AI-generated.
In addition, I was told that my sources are “not relevant.” Could you please clarify how relevance is determined? For example, The Heritage Private School article was accepted with only one source, while my draft contains 17 independent sources, yet it has not passed review.
Finally, the article cannot be considered promotional, because it contains no evaluative or laudatory language. I removed all subjective judgments and left only verifiable, encyclopedic content supported by citations.
I would greatly appreciate clear feedback on what exactly prevents the draft from being accepted and what specific improvements are required. Newacctowork (talk) 11:32, 29 August 2025 (UTC)
:@Newacctowork: you will note that the most recent decline, by me, was not for AI but for promotionality and lack of any evidence of notability.
January 20
:You then resubmitted the draft without any attempt at addressing those reasons. Why did you do that? Are you disputing my review, or did you think if you keep submitting it will eventually go through by brute force? You only have finite number of chances, so I would suggest you make the most of them.
:And yes, The Heritage Private School is even weaker in terms of sourcing (in that, it has none), and I have tagged it accordingly. ::@DoubleGrazing No, I submitted it by accident. Could you please clarify what exactly needs to be fixed? Newacctowork (talk) 12:26, 29 August 2025 (UTC)
:::@Newacctowork: you're normally meant to summarise what the sources say. But on this occasion, those sources are just churnalism etc., therefore summarising them will only ever result in a promotional draft. So you should go back to square one and look for sources that are entirely independent of the subject (meaning no interviews, press releases, advertorials, sponsored content, etc.) and base your draft on them. :::::@Newacctowork: don't concern yourself with any other articles that may exist, we're talking about whether your draft can be accepted; WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS is invariably a red herring.
:::::The long and short of it is that the vast majority of schools are not notable enough to justify an article. At two years old, this school is basically a startup, and the vast majority of startups are likewise not notable. Any media coverage that may exist is therefore almost by definition likely to originate in the school's marketing team, as is clearly the case with the sources cited in this draft. If the school was a major new initiative or an attempt at educational reform by the gov't of Cyprus, there might be independent mainstream media coverage of it, but here we're talking about a niche private school for a particular group of expats. This is exactly what concerns me: does it comply with Wikipedia rules that a school without media coverage is published, while a school with coverage is not? For Cyprus, these media are public and authoritative. For comparison, my house has also stood since 1987. Regarding comments on 29 April by editor Paul W, a public media search likely supports relevance/notoriety for Sam Bregman, but that was not established with proper sources and citations.

Earlier entries for Sam Bregman were rejected for relevance, formatting, peacocking and lack of supporting citations. The latest edits attempt to remove problematic text, clean up formatting and citations, comply with tone and informational intentions of Wikipedia entries for public figures, and establish relevance.

:* If you can't find these, then you'll know that the team does not meet Wikiepdia's criteria for notability, and not to spend any more time on it.
:* If you can, write an article based on what those sources say. You can add a little uncontroversial factual information from non-independent sources (which you should still cite), but the bulk of the article shoud be a summary of what those indpendent commentators have published.

Warmest greetings! I'm preparing to submit an updated draft for review. I went through the process of improving the copy to reach a neutral state but would certainly appreciate a second opinion on whether I need to add anything else here to improve the approval odds. I did my best in discovering as many references as I could here and it feels like a worthy entry. But as this is my first full page, confrimation is apprecaited and I'd like to get this one completed before starting on other pages. Thank you in advance. Hello,
I will like to be educated on the vital websites that one can use to cite in line in an article i am writing. infact i need credible sites i can be using. Becuase i have beautiful aricles but i dont have citations for them and when i tried submitting a draft to be considered. It was declined and one of the reasons was that i didnt use credible citations.
and that i was using model language like chatgpt to write my articles.

:@Trumpetguy19: user-generated content is not considered reliable, as anyone can say pretty much anything they want; in the case of your draft, this means Weebly, Wordpress, Vimeo, YouTube (unless it's an unedited video published directly by a reliable source), and Facebook. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 08:35, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
::Hi DoubleGrazing. Thanks for the feedback. I’ll go back in and remove the self-published stuff. Quick question though, how do I show that a YouTube video is unedited from a reliable source? Also one of the Wordpress sources is an official website of the local history division of the local library in Rochester. Is it still unreliable due to source type regardless of author? Trumpetguy19 (talk) 13:18, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
:::Hi @Trumpetguy19. YouTube content uploaded from a verified official account, such as that of a news organisation, may be treated as originating from the uploader and therefore inheriting their level of reliability. The key thing to ask is "Does this account have editorial oversight?".
:::The Wordpress blog is fine, as it is coming from the subject matter expert (the Library).
:::I would just add you should only have one or two external links as per WP:EXTERNAL. <span style="background-color: RoyalBlue; border-radius: 1em; padding: 3px 3px 3px 3px;"><span style="color: GhostWhite">Qcne</span> <small><span style="color: GhostWhite">(talk)</span></small></span> 13:33, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
:::@Trumpetguy19: if the YouTube video is published on the official channel of a reliable source (especially the original one), we can assume it to be legit; anything else, I'd be cautious, as it's far too easy for anyone to 'doctor' the content.
:::As for the WordPress blog, it may well be the "official website" of an organisation, but it is still a blog, ie. a primary source with almost certainly very little or no editorial control. It's not that you categorically cannot cite a source like that, but you should certainly keep such citations to a minimum. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 13:33, 22 January 2024 (UTC)

Hello, I would like some help understanding why my draft was declined. The reviewer noted that the references do not demonstrate notability and that I need more reliable, independent secondary sources.
How do I make this game Thruball more notable? Thruball Game (talk) 17:02, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
In my draft, I cited three independent news articles (Kuwait Times, Madhyamam, and Manorama Online) that directly cover the project. I also cited the official company website for technical details (such as the robot’s specifications and ecosystem), since I couldn’t find those details in news reports.
:@Thruball Game: the subject either is notable, or isn't; you can't fathom notability out of thin air. Also, Wikipedia does not publish 'how-to' guides, which this seems to be. Besides which, this draft has been rejected, and won't therefore be considered further. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 17:05, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
Could the inclusion of the company website as a supporting source have been the problem? If so, am I allowed to use the website only for factual details (like names of components, patent numbers, etc.) while keeping the news articles as the independent coverage that demonstrates notability?

:@Bradley112358: the links listed in the 'References' section aren't really references, they're just links to external websites (and their home pages, at that, which is not very useful). Hello there - advice please re lacking significant coverage for Sallie Aprahamian. My research has returned no resources to verify Sallie in the way that the guidelines describe. And having corresponded with her she is unaware of anything more substantial.
Are there any other tactics or conditions that can be met to gain approval? It would seem a shame to not be able to link to a page about her from the other wiki pages that mention her.

Hi!
The draft for the English version of the Bethlehem Mission Society was declined. I do not understand why, because it is the exact same content as on the German site. There, there are 26 very good references to back the content. Have a look: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missionsgesellschaft_Bethlehem
The Bethlehem Mission Society is a traditional religious society with a long history. You can find several articles about the Society in newspapers from all over the world.
Please reconsider?

Hi,
Writing on a technical topic of your expertise? My draft was declined for the want of `independent' sources. There's a few tricky questions here: the topic is of a technical nature (a new result/algorithm in Computer Science). The citations/sources are all peer-reviewed high quality publications in the research area. I am an expert in the area (I am a University Professor) and co-author of many of these articles. The wiki article is not talking about myself in a personal capacity or making any subjective judgement. The question is what needs to be fixed to have it published? I could add other work as sources which does not have me as a co-author. Alternatively, I could even ask somebody who's not an author on these sources to write a wiki article on the same topic (Can they use the same title?).
Please advise.
Regards. AmitabhCS (talk) 16:01, 23 January 2024 (UTC)
:@AmitabhCS: the core concept of notability, which is a fundamental requirement for inclusion in Wikipedia, means that (and I quote from WP:GNG) . The 'sources', in plural, is usually considered to mean three or more. One author writing in multiple publications is arguably just one source; therefore, in answer to your question, yes, it would help if we could see publications by other authors as well.
:There is also the question of bias, as in does citing only or mainly one author, even if the papers are peer-reviewed, introduce a source bias into the article? I'm not necessarily saying that applies here, but I'm sure you will appreciate the inherent risks in person X writing an encyclopaedia article about a topic, and supporting it mostly with sources authored by... person X. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 16:17, 23 January 2024 (UTC)

:Thanks, Appreciate that. I suppose I do know of at least three publications which don't have any common author, so I could add that. Hopefully they adddress both your points. Please let me know if there are any other suggestions.
:As a point of discussion, I understand your bias argument but I see it difficult to apply when you are quoting technical results (not assigning subjective value judgements) which are already verified (i.e. peer reviewed) by experts in the field. Of course, there could be a danger that the peer reviewed publcations are themselves poor (not in this case) so you could not rely on that process. ::@AmitabhCS: if memory serves, a certain Andrew Wakefield had a peer-reviewed paper published, in no lesser journal than The Lancet, showing a link between the MMR vaccine and autism... I jest, of course. :)
::The serious point I wanted to make, bias aside, is that notability at its heart demonstrates that the subject is being talked or written about widely enough to justify its inclusion in the 'pedia; hence the requirement for multiple reliable and independent sources. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 16:45, 23 January 2024 (UTC)

:I'd say this is borderline. The first and last sources are primary, so they don't count. The Wired piece seems pretty solid. The Business Insider is normally not considered very reliable (per WP:BI), but on this occasion it's syndicating Reuters which may be okay. The third, AI Magazine, only provides a brief profile, which doesn't really add up to significant coverage. Hello, using the sandbox, I have just submitted an article for review which notes the career of a professional golfer - Frank Kennedy. I wanted to ask whether the reviewer would automatically change the title of the page if it is accepted, as the current title is "User:MattPurcell211/sandbox" due to the use of the sandbox instead of "Frank Kennedy."
This is the first article I have sent for publishing, so I am not entirely sure on the process. Please advise? Thanks! MattPurcell211 (talk) 16:26, 24 January 2024 (UTC)

I am working again on this Theoria page, and I am wondering if it is possible to have the paragraphs that are unsupported by secondary sources hosted elsewhere, as in an archive. So if one wanted to read more about the journal, they could go there instead. Also, can someone help me clean up the texts on this page, as English is not my primary language. And is there a way to make the academic journal indexing automatically update for the page? Niklas.Andersson.95 (talk) 10:22, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
:@Niklas.Andersson.95: if by "hosted elsewhere" you mean elsewhere on Wikipedia, then no; elsewhere on an external site – sure!
:I'm a bit confused as to why the content cannot be supported by referencing. Surely all that information must have come from somewhere, so just cite the source(s). That said, I don't think there is actually all that much unreferenced content.
:Our main concern here at AfC is notability. If you can show that this journal passes WP:NJOURNALS, it could probably be accepted, and just tagged for any remaining issues. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 10:37, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
::Hi! Yes, I meant hosted externally. Sorry for the confusion! Most of this work is produced through interviews that I had with members of Theoria, meaning first-person accounts, so there are no secondary sources to corroborate them. But the interviews are externally hosted, so they can be read elsewhere. I have linked them to the sources. And in regards to notability, I would argue that Theoria fulfills at least one of the stated criteria for notability, which then should be enough if I am reading the notability page correctly. Niklas.Andersson.95 (talk) 10:48, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
:::@Niklas.Andersson.95: ah, okay, got it. Personal interviews and recollections like that wouldn't be acceptable sources anyway, as sources must be published. In that case, my advice would be to remove such content, as you're implying by suggesting to host it elsewhere.

::::Okay, the sources are publicly accessible, but I think I understand that might not be enough. Regarding the notability, Theoria is listed on the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), which is what the notability page states is a requirement for fulfilling C1.
::::here is the link to the journal on SSCI: https://mjl.clarivate.com:/search-results?issn=0040-5817&hide_exact_match_fl=true&utm_source=mjl&utm_medium=share-by-link&utm_campaign=journal-profile-share-this-journal Niklas.Andersson.95 (talk) 11:18, 25 January 2024 (UTC)

:I also would like to add that I do not believe that my previous evaluator speaks/understands English proficiently, as evidenced by the language used on their "talk" page and does not grasp the magnitude of the content covered by the professionally written secondary-sourced articles (Bloomberg, Business Insider, Fortune, etc.), which was in this case is covering a once multi-billion-dollar company's CEO.. :::@Asf132: sorry, can you please clarify your question – are you just wanting to fast track your draft's review? -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 05:21, 2 September 2025 (UTC)
::::The issue in question when I spoke to the reviewer "Như Gây Mê" was a lack of notability, but it seems even by the most pessimistic metric of evaluation the subject would qualify under Wikipedia's standards. The reviewer replied to me in broken English without sufficiently providing an explanation for their evaluation: "Hi, I think this is not the right time for me to publish your article, the information is still too little to show the notability of the subject." So I'm asking for another staff member to evaluate the notability requirements of the individual/the article and if they do indeed suffice then I believe that yes, the article should be published based on that being the "issue" of the article. If that "asks" for a faster review, then I guess that's the answer? But it was more of a prior concern with how this requirement was being evaluated.
::::Thank you! Asf132 (talk) 05:26, 2 September 2025 (UTC)
:::::You have resubmitted the draft, and will therefore get a 'second opinion' in due course once a reviewer gets around to assessing it. We don't provide on-demand reviews here at the help desk.
:::::I have no comment to make regarding another reviewer's command of English; nor should you, in my opinion. Any reviewer working on the English Wikipedia will almost certainly have sufficient skills to be able to review a draft and its associated English-language sources. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 05:36, 2 September 2025 (UTC)
::::::Ok, got it. I also just received your message about managing a conflict of interest, and I would like to let you know that there is no personal or professional connection to my subject. I have studied the subject independently through my own research in the last half-decade as his company was rising and falling. This should be clearly evidenced by my neutrality throughout my draft, which highlights both his professional accomplishments as well as evidence that he played a significant role in the eventual bankruptcy of his company. Asf132 (talk) 05:48, 2 September 2025 (UTC)
:::::::Unusually (for me), I reviewed the draft you refer to, and also had to decline it for lack of evidence of notability. Most of the sources are either primary, or cover the View company with only passing mentions of Mulpuri. I believe the only one that provides significant coverage directly about him is this BI piece (also cited for the second time via AOL, for some reason). -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 05:56, 2 September 2025 (UTC)
:::::::PS: I did not decline this because of the unreferenced DOB, I declined it because of insufficient evidence of notability. Resubmitting without any attempt at addressing that issue is disruptive. Don't do that again, please, or your draft may be rejected outright. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 05:58, 2 September 2025 (UTC)
::::::::Thank you, I appreciate your time and feedback. I have found sources that are secondary that cover the subject in depth and added/replaced them now (if applicable to the content). Asf132 (talk) 06:14, 2 September 2025 (UTC)
:::::::::You have replaced one source, and resubmitted. Even if that new source were solid, which it isn't, that would still not be sufficient to satisfy WP:GNG.
:::::::::You do you, I suppose, but just be aware that you do not have unlimited attempts at this. If I were you, I would try to make the most of your chances. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 06:20, 2 September 2025 (UTC)
::::::::::Actually, there were an additional two sources added (one of which was to provide a source for the year, which I will concede is not secondary)) and the other was the Forbes article that was added in with new content (which would count as secondary). Only the second mention of the Business Insider article source was swapped for an equivalent one that aimed to resolve your issue earlier about how it was cited twice (which is what you were referring to, unless you did not see my latest edits). So that was not the one in question that I was referring to. But I understand your general point and will add more that would fit the requirement. Asf132 (talk) 06:28, 2 September 2025 (UTC)

Hi, the content that I posted have been declined twice by two peers. And I would like to seek assistance specifically on which part I have to make correction so that I content can edit again and make it live. Thank you ! Elesha1188 (talk) 02:01, 2 September 2025 (UTC)
I find the reason given ('topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia') for rejecting the submission difficult to understand and very subjective.
Depending on the interests of the person making the decision, this entry may be more or less relevant.
The fact is that mital-U is an independent music label that has produced some relevant releases (including chart entries in Germany + Austria with Eisbaer by Grauzone, as well as Record of the Week of the song automaten by mittageisen on the John Peel Radio Show BBC1).
Therefore, I would be grateful for a reversal of the rejection and an indication of where there might be a need for additions to the list. HAL 7C0 (talk) 07:47, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
:@Elesha1188: now declined for the third time. As I said in my comments two declines ago, primary sources do not establish notability per WP:ORG, and that's all your draft cites. We need to see significant coverage of this organisation in multiple secondary sources. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 05:17, 2 September 2025 (UTC)
:@HAL 7C0: this draft was declined five times before being rejected. I'd say that's plenty of opportunity to demonstrate notability, but if this isn't forthcoming, then eventually we have to reject as we can't keep reviewing the same draft indefinitely.
:Notability of companies is defined in WP:CORP, and there is very little, if any, subjectivity in that guideline. It certainly does not in any way consider the "interests of the person", or "relevance" of the subject (whatever that means, exactly). -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 08:00, 26 January 2024 (UTC)

First thing, is the layout of the article Sun Haven alright? I have been looking at other video games that are released in 2023 like Coral Island (video game) and My Time at Sandrock.
:@Goldface2009: we don't provide pre-reviews here at the help desk, you'll get a proper review once you submit your draft. I've added a template to it which has a blue 'submit' button for that. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 05:13, 2 September 2025 (UTC)
And second, are reliable sources required since I think none of them (other than the link to the official website presented in the 'external links' section) are primary sources. I feel like the main reason for my article being rejected (even though I put a few reviews on that game) is because of the fact that there are little to no reliable sources for Sun Haven at WP:VG/S and does not really meet GNG even though I thought it just creeps it (see the history) Although I did find a few reviews of it. There is also not currently a Metacritic review. I was thinking this game is quite popular it is more popular than Fae Farm IMO but I think what matters is that not how popular it is but if there are at least a couple of reliable sources.
The closest I can find is from RPS but that is not its own page.
