Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited [[Clara Oswald]], you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page [[War in Afghanistan]]. I still haven't watched "The Fix" but i don't think there is really a need to compare the two. Unless the actual POWERS are the same (I didn't watch more than say 6 eps of charmed after pru died) then its not really important, just the same word. But again, if phoebe's powers really are the same as Peter's, i say mention it on the Talk Page over there. [[User:WookMuff|WookMuff]] 18:44, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
:Cool, then I say go bring it up in the talk page over there, because if its essentially the same then it has a place there, as an antecendent or precedent or both [[User:WookMuff|WookMuff]] 20:09, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

Hello, I just happened to be looking at your user page and realized that your link to the Angel episode "Your Welcome" is wrong. Just thought I should let you know. [[User:Thefro552|Thefro552]] 01:23, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

I've no objection to changing the article title, or to some of your other changes, but I know from personal experience (which I can back up with sources if you insist) that the word "officiant" is (still) widely used both in the UK and elsewhere - although you are correct that the word "celebrant" is generally ''preferred'' in the UK. The BHA is certainly not doctrinaire about use of the term. [[User:Ghmyrtle|Ghmyrtle]] ([[User talk:Ghmyrtle|talk]]) 17:20, 12 August 2015 (UTC)
== [[Chris Halliwell]] ==
:Hi Ghmyrtyle - it's not doctrinaire in regards to what celebrants use in personal advertisements and marketing but it's got its own clear guidelines about preferred language and so never uses 'officiant' in any official materials.[[User:Zythe|Zythe]] ([[User talk:Zythe#top|talk]]) 17:21, 12 August 2015 (UTC)
::I would make the general point that the article should - so far as possible - ''not'' be based on what the BHA says about its celebrants, but rather on what independent sources - such as the BBC - say. Obviously that's not completely feasible... but a WP article should not simply set out what the article subjects themselves want to have published. [[WP:COI]] applies in this case as much as any other. [[User:Ghmyrtle|Ghmyrtle]] ([[User talk:Ghmyrtle|talk]]) 18:33, 12 August 2015 (UTC)
:::Hi Ghmyrtle. I'm a longtime editor of over a decade and I know the rules! I would simply say, however, that given the BHA is a reliable source in and of itself and that BBC article (quoting the BHA's old language) is plainly out of date, that there's not a huge issue at stake in terms of which is a higher source of authority. If you look at any of the dozens of articles published about humanist ceremonies since 2012, not to mention Government mentions in Ireland, England, and Scotland, of which there have been many due to the humanist marriage legalisation debate and the first same-sex marriages in Scotland being humanist, 'celebrant' is overwhelmingly preferred and 'officiant' rarely seen, and typically then only by the sketchier sources.[[User:Zythe|Zythe]] ([[User talk:Zythe#top|talk]]) 09:43, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
::::Sure. But entirely removing the words "humanist officiant", as you did in [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Humanist_celebrant&diff=675778167&oldid=675777803 this edit], failed to take account of non-BHA usage, for example in other parts of the world, was too UK-centric a perspective, and could have confused our global readership. [[User:Ghmyrtle|Ghmyrtle]] ([[User talk:Ghmyrtle|talk]]) 09:55, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
:::::Sure. I think your subsequent edit was probably right (I've yet to see sources that the term is widely preferred in other countries - though I don't doubt that it might be).[[User:Zythe|Zythe]] ([[User talk:Zythe#top|talk]])

==Disambiguation link notification for August 18==
I just want to clarify what exactly we were arguing over. The article written before I added anything, implied (to me at least) that Chris had not died, but returned to the future ''just in time'' with a different memory. What I wrote in was that the reason his body had disappeared wasn't because he had suddenly changed the future just enough to save his life in time, but because he '''did''' die and his body dissapeared from present time '''because''' he was dead, and his spell to send himself back to the past couldn't be sustained with his magic anymore (of which there are several examples of spells no longer working after a character has died before in the show). I wasn't trying to write things in that "i worked out for myself," or only fan-speculative, but if I was in some way going against wikipedia policy then I apologize but please elaborate on ''what'' exactly I did that was wrong, because that paragraph seemed awfully overly-optimistic way to look at his death. At that point, they had no idea if the future had changed or not, but the article reads as if they did. Now, I did rewatch the episode, and I saw the line you mentioned, but that wasn't what I had been asking about. I already knew he definately died (although I don't think ''the article'' states that clearly enough)I wanted to know where it stated that the future had definately changed, and how ''that'' was the reason for his body disappearing.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited [[Happy Human]], you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page [[Margaret Knight]]. On the other note, you again deleted the references and several internal links I put in, including the ones that had '''nothing to do with the paragraph in question'''. Now, I admit I am still fairly new to wikipedia, which is why I didn't revert the article again since you seem to have been here longer than I have and I don't have that much expierience with adding references to articles, but I really have no idea what I did wrong there. I was under the impression that the more references an article had, the better the article was. So I decided that where I found a statement talking about a specific episode, to add in the reference to that episode, to help try and improve the quality of the article, which is how it seemed to me references had been treated in there already. Again, I could be wrong, but if I am please specify how. If I was being excessive (which I can agree I was being a bit in the statistics box) then please tell me that, but I still would like to know why with the internal links were cut as well.

I would just like a specific reason for why the internal links and unrelated references were taken out, as well as an elaboration for your view of my added statement in the last paragraph, because although Chris ''is'' my favorite character on Charmed, I honestly wasn't trying to sound like an overexcited-and-ignoring-the-facts "cHriS iz sOoOo hOtt!" fangirl; and I am extrememly sorry if that was how I came off. **I completely understand what happened, and thanks for trying to put the references back in! (Those things take a while to do...and it was one of the first times I was trying to put in references, which is also partially why I had gotten so upset about it...so I apologize if I came across as overreacting) So I guess we both misread what the other was saying. But I understand, so thank you for telling me about the mix-up! I was confused over what I had did wrong, so I really appriciate you getting back to me about it so quickly! Thank you. While reports, particularly the IHEU, does indicate that atheism carries the death penalty in Malaysia, that is not the case. Common law is the basis of criminal law in Malaysia, and it is silent in regards to religion. Islamic law is limited by the Constitution to family law and is limited in its scope as well as penalties. While there has been attempts to introduce Islamic Criminal Law (which in some interpretations does carry the death penalty for apostasy from Islam, rather than atheism in general), it has yet to be successful. - [[User:Bobk|Bob K]] | [[User talk:Bobk|Talk]] 17:35, 20 August 2015 (UTC)

Hi and thanks for your addition of the reference for '''Dykon''' in this article. Unfortunately, it's not usable in its current form (damn those picky Wikipedians!). You only gave the Newspaper, date and page number, but not the author or name of the article. We do need that if we are to be able to verify that source. Can you find it again? Otherwise we will be forced to revert to the Urban Dictionary. The fate of the entire English language Wikipedia rests on your shoulders. Good luck! Regarding "the Dark Archer", I wanted to let you know that [[Merlyn (DC Comics)|Merlyn]] has been called that in more forms of media than just ''Smallville'' (such as in promotional materials for ''Arrow'' and a few times in the comics). No one is trying to create a feedback loop. As far as citations go, I'm a bit tied up at the moment but I'll be sure to dig some up soon. I myself have experience with having to deal with anonymous users who constantly add unsourced material without explanation, regardless of reverts. I'm not sure I'm understanding correctly, but in your most recent revert ([http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_Charmed_family_and_friends&curid=3647138&diff=111645794&oldid=111395810]) your comment seems to indicate that you're removing speculation, but the actual edit looks more like you're adding the speculation back in. Am I misunderstanding the conflict, or did you revert something you didn't mean to? --[[User:Maelwys|Maelwys]] 20:15, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

What you "know" from unpublished sources is irrelevant here - it can't be used. Both the existing statements are in the article text (the "Modern context" section), are fully sourced, and should remain. [[User:Ghmyrtle|Ghmyrtle]] ([[User talk:Ghmyrtle|talk]]) 14:05, 16 February 2016 (UTC)

== Wiki Loves Pride 2016 ==

As a participant of [[Wikipedia:WikiProject LGBT studies|WikiProject LGBT studies]], you are invited to participate in the third annual '''[[Wikipedia:Wiki Loves Pride 2016|Wiki Loves Pride]]''' campaign, which runs through the month of June. The purpose of the campaign is to create and improve content related to [[LGBT]] culture and history. How can you help?
:# Create or improve LGBT-related Wikipedia pages and showcase the results of your work '''[[Wikipedia:Wiki Loves Pride 2016/Results|here]]'''
:# Document local LGBT culture and history by taking pictures at pride events and uploading your images to Wikimedia Commons
:# Contribute to an LGBT-related task force at another Wikimedia project ('''[[:wikidata:Wikidata:WikiProject LGBT|Wikidata]]''', '''[[:commons:Commons:LGBT Free Media Collective|Wikimedia Commons]]''', '''[[:wikivoyage: Wikivoyage:LGBT Expedition|Wikivoyage]]''', [[:meta: Wikimedia LGBT/Interwiki|etc]].)

Looking for topics? The '''[[Wikipedia:Wiki Loves Pride/Tasks|Tasks]]''' page, which you are welcome to update, offers some ideas and wanted articles.

This campaign is supported by the '''[[:meta:Wikimedia LGBT/Portal|Wikimedia LGBT+ User Group]]''', an officially recognized affiliate of the [[Wikimedia Foundation]]. The group's mission is to develop LGBT-related content across all Wikimedia projects, in all languages. Visit the affiliate's page at Meta-Wiki for more information, or follow '''[https://www.facebook.com/WikimediaLGBT Wikimedia LGBT+ on Facebook]'''. Remember, Wiki Loves Pride is about creating and improving LGBT-related content at Wikimedia projects, and content should have a [[Wikipedia:Neutral point of view|neutral point of view]]. One does ''not'' need to identify as LGBT or any other gender or sexual minority to participate. This campaign is about adding accurate, reliable information to Wikipedia, plain and simple, and all are welcome! If you have any questions, please [[Wikipedia talk:Wiki Loves Pride 2016|leave a message on the campaign's talk page]].

* With such rapid development of the project, it was decided that a Coordinator was needed to ensure all the fiddly maintenence was kept up. Elections were held and {{User|Dev920}} has been elected [[Wikipedia:WikiProject LGBT studies/Coordinator|Coordinator]] for the next three months. She said "I am honoured and proud to be at the helm of such a fantastic WikiProject and look forward to our future". Congratulations Dev!
* The [[Wikipedia:WikiProject LGBT studies#Assessment|assessment]] system continues to be a great success, we have tagged over 5200 articles! Please tag any LGBT related articles you come across by adding <nowiki>{{LGBTProject | class=}}</nowiki> to the talkpage. Please see the [[Wikipedia:WikiProject LGBT studies/Assessment|Assessment]] Department for how to assess an article according to the grading system.
* [[Wikipedia:WikiProject LGBT studies/Jumpaclass|Jumpaclass]] is proving to be quite successful! The winner at the end of the year gets to pick the January collaboration, so sign up and get going! Or challenge another user to see how far you can jump a stub!
* A new [[Wikipedia:WikiProject LGBT studies/Community|Community department]] has been set up to foster community amongst our members. It mostly acts as other WikiProjects' Outreach department, but also has a [[Wikipedia:WikiProject LGBT studies/Quilt|Quilt]] to which every member is entitled to add a square containing anything of their choice.
* The [[Wikipedia:WikiProject LGBT studies/Peer review|peer review]] is not getting much custom - please notice you can cross-list other peer reviews from different projects that also fall within our scope.
* Many people still seem to be unaware that the [[Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Sexuality and gender|Deletion sorting]] subpage exists for XfDs to be listed: please use and watch that page instead of issuing "alerts" for ordinary AfDs on the project talkpage.
* [[WP:FILM]] has a current drive to give every film article an infobox. [[WP:LGBT]] successfully gave all 105 LGBT infoboxless films infoboxes, so a big thank you to everyone who participated.
* A new template, [[Template:LGBT-footer|LGBT-footer]], has been created for articles which are becoming to cluttered with infoboxes. Thanks to [[User:WJBscribe|WJBscribe]] and [[User:SatyrTN|SatyrTN]] for creating it.
* A very basic [[Wikipedia:WikiProject LGBT studies/Resources|resources page]] has been started. Please add to it as you come across useful sites.
* A promotional poster for the project has been created: http://wplgbt.tripod.com/Wikipedianeedsyou.doc (you have to directly cut and paste the url, or it won't let you download it). Please distribute anywhere and everywhere you desire, such as gay libraries, cybercafes, community centres and so on. Also, please let [[User:Dev920|Dev920]] know where you have put it up, so she can keep track of our coverage.
* An LGBT Publications Taskforce has been proposed. Please sign up [[Wikipedia:WikiProject_LGBT_studies#Proposed_taskforces|here]] if you are interested in being involved.
* An LGBT WikiProject has been set up on the [[:es:Wikiproyecto:LGBT| Spanish]] Wikipedia! Set up by [[User:Raystorm|Raystorm]], it has already gained six members and is developing an assessment system. If you speak any Spanish, please consider going up and lending a hand if you can!

[[File:Information.svg|left|25px|alt=]]Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to [[:Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing]]. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at [[WP:Image resolution]], along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the [[User talk:Ronhjones|bot owner]] if you have any questions, or you can ask them at [[Wikipedia talk:Non-free content]]. == Sentientism merge into Sentiocentrism ==

Hi Zythe,

I'd appreciate your help on the above.

Can we reverse the merging until we've had a chance to discuss this further? Sentientism isn't a neologism - the term has been used for many years, for example in this "Souls and Sentientism" paper by Richard Ryder (one of the originators) in 1991 https://digitalcommons.calpoly.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?referer=&httpsredir=1&article=1537&context=bts.

The merge has completely lost all of the sentientism article references (there are many more than for the less-used term sentiocentrism) and the external links. Sentiocentrism and Sentientism are distinct, but related, philosophies so I think there's value in them being separate entries. Sentientism can be seen as an an extension of Humanism to cover all sentient beings. In common with Humanism, Sentientism explicitly commits to the use of evidence and reason when determining sentience and making moral decisions - this was the basis of the term when created by Richard Ryder and Peter Singer in the 1970s. Sentiocentrism is silent on that front so remains open to supernatural rationales.

Happy to chat via jamiewoodhouse@hotmail.com if easier than here (I'm still learning).

== Tim Drake ==

As a senior editor, is there anything you can do about the IP address that keeps removing the newest information about Tim Drake's coming out from his wiki page? I keep undoing those edits when I see them, but at this point I don't know how to get them to stop vandalizing a page just because they don't like the newest canon. Thanks!

I don't know what to do either! I think maybe the article could be requested to be semi-locked or the IP could be banned. It's clearly all rooted in homophobia! [[User:Zythe|Zythe]] ([[User talk:Zythe#top|talk]]) 14:25, 11 August 2021 (UTC)

== Leo Varadkar ==

Hi there. Per [[WP:BLPCAT]] and [[WP:CAT/R]], please don't add religion or sexuality categories to BLPs unless the subject has identified with the particular belief/sexuality, '''and''' their notability derives at least in part from that belief or sexuality preference. You recently added the "Irish atheists" category to [[:Leo Varadkar]]. Neither criteria was met for that addition. Varadkar isn't notable for atheism, and in fact the only time religion is mentioned in the article is a one-liner that says he was raised Catholic but is not religious. His tweet, used as the reference for that addition, doesn't mention atheism at all. Cheers, [[User:Bastun|<span style="font-family:Verdana, sans-serif">Bastun</span>]][[User_talk:Bastun|Ėġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ!]] 14:07, 22 May 2023 (UTC)

Okay–ooh. New <s>teeth</s> newsletter. That's weird...

<big>'''Hello!'''</big>

:Welcome to the first regenerated issue of The Space-Time Telegraph, the official newsletter of [[Wikipedia:WikiProject Doctor Who|WikiProject ''Doctor Who'']]. We hope it finds you well in your safe travels across the Whoniverse! This newsletter was founded in 2008 and seemed to get lost in the time vortex quite quickly. Thanks to the Doctor dragging Sutekh through the time vortex and bringing life by bringing death to death (''yeah... I'm a little confused too''), it seems to have regenerated. The writing staff hopes to bring you future editions quarterly.

:For this first edition, we have created an updated version of [[Wikipedia:WikiProject Doctor Who/Newsletter/Mailing list|our mailing list]] that includes any active editors who previously had their usernames included in [[Wikipedia:WikiProject Doctor Who/Participants/Active participants|our participants list]]. If you do not wish to receive future editions, please remove your name from the mailing list. If you no longer wish to participate in the project, please also remove your name from the participants list.

:I think that's enough about the newsletter for now. Let's dive into interesting things happening within the ''Doctor Who'' side of Wikipedia. Geronimooooo.....

{{columns-start|num=2}}

<big>'''Big Spike in Productivity'''</big>
:During 2024, the project has scored 8 GAs, 2 FLs and a GT, up from last year's 4 GAs and a GT. Several additional things are in the pipeline, with a bunch of things currently having been nominated with some mix of [[User:OlifanofmrTennant|OlifanofmrTennant]], [[User:TheDoctorWho|TheDoctorWho]], and [[User:Pokelego999|Pokelego999]] having their names attached to them. Allow me to look into the nominees.

# Series 14: As of July 18th, every single episode has been sent to GAN, with "[[Boom (Doctor Who)|Boom]]", "[[73 Yards]]", and "[[The Devil's Chord]]" having made it to GA.
# 2023 Specials: Early in the year, as part of trying to not lose the WikiCup, Ollie sent "[[The Star Beast (Doctor Who episode)|The Star Beast]]" <small>(still salty about the move)</small> to GAN. It was reviewed by [[User:Bilorv|frequent collaborator]] <small>(fly high)</small> of hers, but failed. She then fixed it up and sent it back where it passed. Later "[[The Giggle]]" was expanded and sent to GA, followed shortly by "[[Wild Blue Yonder (Doctor Who)|Wild Blue Yonder]]". WBY received help by [[User:JustAnotherCompanion|JustAnotherCompanion]], a pretty fresh user. This other companion chose not to be listed as co-nom. A page was created for "[[Destination: Skaro]]" and quickly got GA status.
# ''[[The Daleks' Master Plan]]'' was also sent to GAN by [[User:Rhain|Rhain]]. It passed to join Rhain's other First Doctor content, being the fourth season three article to get the green check.
# Peter Capaldi: The [[Peter Capaldi filmography |filmography]] and newly created [[List of awards and nominations received by Peter Capaldi|awards]] of Capaldi were both sent to FLC and passed. Capaldi's main page was sent to GA, though due to some minor incompetence on the part of the nominator it was failed.

<big>'''Proposals to the WikiProject'''</big>
:A recent proposal at [[Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Doctor Who]] suggested potential improvements and suggestions for the main page of the project, as well as discussions about the project overall. The proposals are as follows:
# The Task Forces section should be removed due to inactivity in the Torchwood Task Force, and a lack of significant interest in creating further Task Forces.
# The freenode channel no longer works and should be removed due to most discussion taking place on site.
# Due to the low quality of ''[[Lungbarrow]]'' and ''[[Jubilee (audio drama)|Jubilee]]'' despite being sample articles, these articles should either be removed as samples or improved. Additionally, the "sample device" has a very small application field, and should be removed from the sample articles section.
# An updates infobox should be included, similarly to those used by [[Wikipedia:VGCHAR]].
# ''[[Radio Times]]''{{'}}s ''Doctor Who'' sections should be included in the references section due to their benefits for the project sourcing wise.
# The Deletion Discussion archive should be removed, or have work invested in updating it, due to its lack of updates.

If you feel you have any thoughts or suggestions on these matters, or on any other matters pertaining to the project and its main page, feel free to chime in the ongoing discussion.

{{columns-end}}

<big>'''Discussions of Note'''</big>

A move discussion is [[Talk:Doctor_Who_series_14#Second_requested_move|currently underway]] on whether or not [[Doctor Who series 14|''Doctor Who'' series 14]] should be moved to [[Doctor Who season 1 (2024)|''Doctor Who'' season 1 (2024)]]. The discussion also involves conversation on a few other adjacent articles. If you have an opinion on the matter please read over the discussion or leave comments.

<big>'''Welcome'''</big>

:Hello and welcome to the second issue of the new newsletter! Following the success of the first newsletter we are back to write more stuff.}}

{{columns-start|num=2}}

<big>'''Articles for deletion'''</big>
<br>Several articles have been nominated for deletion, such as [[Time War (Doctor Who)]], and several articles have been deleted, or merged or redirected, especially those relating to books, due to lack of [[WP:SIGCOV]] and [[WP:NBOOK]]. Editors can always help either by participating in the deletion discussions (which are noted on the project page), adding to such articles, or bringing attention to other such articles through AfD or the WikiProject talk page, to aid in clean-up.

<big>'''Notice of Draft Articles'''</big>
<br>A new ''Doctor Who'' spin-off was announced at the 2024 San Diego Comic-Con, called ''[[The War Between the Land and the Sea]]'', and will feature old and new [[Whoniverse]] characters working for [[UNIT]] as they battle the [[Sea Devil (Doctor Who)|Sea Devils]]. The main space article currently redirects to Whoniverse, but collaboration is [[Draft:The War Between the Land and the Sea|currently underway in a draft article]]. As filming on this miniseries has recently begun, its relocation to the mains space will presumably take place soon per the recommendations laid out at [[WP:NTV]].

<br>There is also a [[Draft:Joy to the World (Doctor Who)|draft article in progress for the upcoming 2024 Christmas special]]. While this article won't be moved until the episode airs, any new contributions are welcome.

<big>'''Doctor Who News'''</big>
<br>A small number of editors have recently raised questions regarding the reliability of [https://www.doctorwhonews.net/ Doctor Who News]. This website is particularly used for information regarding viewing figures and the [[Appreciation Index]] of most episodes as well as some news information. If there is a better source for any information supported by this website, it should be replaced in good faith.

<br>A full consensus on whether or not to remove the information that can't be supported by a different source has not yet been reached. Any editor who has opinions on this matter should contribute to the discussion on the [[WT:WHO|WikiProject talk page]].

{{column}}

<big>'''Continued Progress Towards Good/Featured Content'''</big>
<br> There has been lots of progress made towards recognized articles in the last two months, related to such diverse categories as series, specials, lists and episodes A [[Wikipedia:WikiProject_Doctor_Who/Goals|sub-page]] has also been added to the WikiProject, to list any possible goals we can aim towards.

<big>'''Proposals Regarding the State of Fictional Elements Articles in the WikiProject'''</big>
:Several proposals have been laid out regarding fictional elements in the WikiProject, which includes fictional characters, locations, and more. Due to a concerning quality state regarding the large majority of them, several methods of tackling them in order to improve these articles' quality for the future have been proposed. The primary three proposals are as follows:
:1. A priority list should be made to determine what articles are most pressing and in need of improvement in the WikiProject overall. Focus would be put onto important subjects and articles in a state of dubious notability that would make them viable for deletion processes such as AfD.
:2. A group of articles is selected for improvement, which are ones deemed most relevant to the WikiProject for the future. Any lesser important subjects can be sidelined and worked on as editors see fit.

:3. A long term goal is made to improve all elements. This will come at the caveat of taking significantly longer and requiring more heavy participation than the above two proposals, but would guarantee a slow and steady way to solve the issue.

:If any editors are interested in chiming into the conversation and sharing their piece on how this should be handled, or if any editors wish to help with this proposal and improve fictional elements articles, then feel free to share thoughts at the discussion's section on [[Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Doctor_Who#On_the_Subject_of_Fictional_Elements_in_this_WikiProject|the article's talk page]].

== Invitation to participate in a research ==
I'm increasingly becoming of the opinion that the article is hopeless. More and more OR, flowery prose, and a general sense that it's more an overdramatic fanpage than an encyclopedia article continue to run rampant, especially, of late, in the Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and most prominently, the OOT sections. (Maybe doing away with the sections for individual games will be necessary.)

Hello,
In short: There are far too many people editing the article who don't care about whether it's encyclopedic, or what has been decided about it. We need to either semi-protect it or just accept the fact that it's gone to the dogs for good. -- [[User:Digital Watches|<font color="#00007F">Digital Watches</font>]][[User Talk:Digital Watches|<font color="#000000">!</font>]] 00:37, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. Hey Zythe, I'm sorry, I did a [http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22the+closet%22+narnia&btnG=Google+Search quick Google search] without much luck (just one urbandictionary result that was a bit ambiguous, and ''only'' that -- no other instances within the first few pages), so I figured it was something left over from a vandal. :Then get consensus to add those categories into the articles. I dispute the insertion of the categories into the articles, thus get a [[Wikipedia:Consensus|consensus]] to add them. [[User:Matthew|Matthew]] 10:51, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

:Similar concerns were raised about [https://doctorwhotv.co.uk Doctor Who TV (doctorwho.tv.co.uk)]. Uses of this source have also been depreciated. This website should NOT be confused with [https://doctorwho.tv Doctor Who TV (doctorwho.tv)], a commercial website published by the Beeb, which is acceptable for use as a primary source.

* There is now the beginning of a [[Wikipedia:WikiProject LGBT studies/Core topics|list of core topics]] to possibly be included in the [[Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team|Wikipedia 1.0 release]]. Your suggestions are welcome; there may be many core LGBT topics still missing.
* We have a [[Wikipedia:List of gay, lesbian or bisexual people/To be sorted|list of people categorized as LGBT]] whose articles need to be checked for [[Wikipedia:Attribution#Reliable sources|reliable sourcing]]. This effort is necessary and urgent, to comply with Wikipedia's [[Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons|policy on living persons]]. Please take a few moments to source one article; if you've got time, do another.
* [[User:SatyrTN|SatyrTN]] identified all the articles that were in subcategories of [[:Category:LGBT]] but not yet tagged with [[Template:LGBTProject|the project's banner]], about 1,400 articles. These have been completed, though [[User:SatyrBot|SatyrBot]] will make periodic runs through the cats to find any new entries. Thanks Satyr!
* The number of articles within our project's spectrum (6,667 currently) should now be relatively stable and only grow with article creation. However, if you find a category that should be included, please let [[User:SatyrTN|SatyrTN]] know so it can be included in the bots runs.
* Work is underway to improve the [[Portal:LGBT|LGBT Portal]]. Please add any good quality (free) photos you come across on LGBT articles to the gallery [[User:WJBscribe/Drafts/2|here]]. Also if anyone would like to volunteer to help in maintaining the portal, please make yourselves known on the Portal's [[Portal talk:LGBT|talkpage]].
* If you see any [[Wikipedia:Articles for deletion|articles for deletion]] or any other [[Wikipedia:Deletion debates|deletion discussions]] related to LGBT topics, please remember to add them to the [[Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Sexuality and gender|deletion sorting board]]. Thanks!

*Is your stance on [[Whoniverse]] article affiliations in line with an official Wikipedia convention or is this your own personal opinion? Whilst I realise the information is often within the main body of text, surely the information box is designed to be a summary. It seems logical to include [[Jackie Tyler]] as an affiliate of [[Rose Tyler]], for example. As her mother, Jackie has had a longer affiliation with Rose than the Doctor, plus this continues onscreen throughout Rose's tenure with both the [[Ninth Doctor|Ninth]] and [[Tenth Doctor]]s and Rose ends up living with Jackie again post-''[[Doomsday (Doctor Who)|Doomsday]]''. Similarly, [[Ian Chesterton]] and [[Barbara Wright]] were colleagues before meeting the [[First Doctor]] and left together in ''[[The Chase (Doctor Who)|The Chase]]''. In ''[[Torchwood]]'' terms, with the amount of bed-hopping that goes on, I realise that it may become unfeasible to continue adding each of the Torchwood team's lovers. However, [[Gwen Cooper]] is in a long-term relationship with [[List of Torchwood minor characters#Rhys Williams|Rhys Williams]], even prior to ''[[Everything Changes (Torchwood)|Everything Changes]]'', so his inclusion as an affiliate would seem logical. As for [[Sarah Jane Smith]], now with her own Doctor-less spin-off show, should her adoptive son, [[Luke Smith]], not be listed? [[Maria Jackson]] and [[Kelsey Harper]] serve as her 'companions', for want of a better term, hence their inclusion, the Doctors having their companions listed.[[User:Wolf of Fenric|Wolf of Fenric]] 14:31, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
