Hi editors, just wanted to ask what I can do to improve my draft and write it in a way that is aligned with Wikipedia's guide and tone. Thank you! IanResearch (talk) 03:12, 28 August 2025 (UTC)
Hello,
:The draft just tells of the offerings and activities of the company; a Wikipedia article must do more, it must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the company, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable company.
I am wondering why the Biography got rejected from submission? What could I change? What should I put in a Biography on Wikipedia? What shouldn't I put in a Biography on Wikipedia?
:The awards are meaningless towards establishing notability; for an award to contribute to notability, it must itself merit an article(like Nobel Peace Prize or Academy Award). 331dot (talk) 06:59, 28 August 2025 (UTC)

Hello Wikipedians, I'm kindly asking for advice. Many months ago, I created a draft on the Bihler company (Draft:Otto Bihler Maschinenfabrik). It has since been declined multiple times, but I don't quite understand why. It is said that WP:NCORP is not met. However, in that draft, I have demonstrated, using a source assessment table, why I believe that the Bihler company has been the subject of significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. I know that not every source that I have cited falls within the WP:SIRS criteria, but still, I feel that, the number of sources that do, is sufficient. It would be very helpful to have a second thought on this. Any advice is very much appreciated. Thank you! @ User:Novem Linguae. -- Casa Coto (talk) 08:37, 28 August 2025 (UTC)
:I haven't done a detailed analysis yet, but if other reviewers are still declining it, maybe your source assessment table is being too generous. Do all your sources have 3 meaty paragraphs of detail about the company? Are they independent (i.e. no press releases disguised as articles, no articles that are mostly quotations, no advertorials, etc)? Is at least one of the sources regional, national, or international? These are all things needed to pass WP:NCORP and WP:GNG. See also User:Novem Linguae/Essays/Nuances of GNG and User:Novem Linguae/Essays/Novem's words of wisdom #6. It's been 2 months since you submitted this... if you think it passes, maybe submit it again and add a comment asking for detailed source feedback in the event of a decline. Hope this helps. :Comments on your assessment table:
Could someone please review the article and let me know if it meets the criteria for inclusion in a Wikipedia namespace?
:* You list the Hesse source as secondary, but describe it as an encyclopedia. That means it's a tertiary source.
:* You assess four sources in total to meet the criteria of reliable, independent, and significant coverage. Those would be good sources, but...
:* it isn't clear that they provide significant coverage of the company, its products, the punch-bending process, or Otto Bihler himself. Those are four different topics, and this draft is about one topic. For example, the Kolbe source discusses the technology and how the machine works, but what about the company, which is the topic of this draft?

My draft, "Draft:Radio Duhok," has been declined multiple times due to a lack of "in-depth coverage" from reliable, independent sources, according to the last reviewer.
I was declined for my first submission of "Infinite Universe Theory" which I then resubmitted which then took me to a page that said it was declined. Is there a way to find out if my resubmission (2nd attempt) was accepted or if the second attempt was also declined and if I could get some help to edit this article for the standards that Wikipedia requires?

1. Two official announcements from the Duhok Governorate's website congratulating the radio on its anniversary.

2. A feature article about the radio in the well-known regional "Gulan Magazine" (Issue 829, 2010), which refers to it as the "authentic voice of the governorate."
It was rejecetd for unrelaible sources. I've learned that local news outlets are not deemed reliable. :It's not accurate as a blanket statement to say that local sources are inherently unreliable, but local sources don't usually have the reach to establish notability of a topic. :Abhi2002pathak. Your statement that she "needs a Wikipedia page" is based on a (very common) misconception. A Wikipedia article about a subject is not in any way at all for the benefit (or detriment) of that subject. If Yadav meets Wikipedia's criteria for notability (perhaps the more specific notability for politicians) then there can be an article about her: if she does not, then there cannot be an article about her.

At two years old, this school is basically a startup, and the vast majority of startups are likewise not notable. Any media coverage that may exist is therefore almost by definition likely to originate in the school's marketing team, as is clearly the case with the sources cited in this draft. If the school was a major new initiative or an attempt at educational reform by the gov't of Cyprus, there might be independent mainstream media coverage of it, but here we're talking about a niche private school for a particular group of expats. He’s been involved in over 40 movies with a list, actors and directors, I don’t know why that wouldn’t be acceptable as there are some film Producers I’ve looked up that have pages and don’t have nearly as much success or years of experience.
Can anyone provide any guidance or input on the latest draft?
Regarding comments on 29 April by editor Paul W, a public media search likely supports relevance/notoriety for Sam Bregman, but that was not established with proper sources and citations.
Earlier entries for Sam Bregman were rejected for relevance, formatting, peacocking and lack of supporting citations. The latest edits attempt to remove problematic text, clean up formatting and citations, comply with tone and informational intentions of Wikipedia entries for public figures, and establish relevance.
( Political figures not elected to public office
Sub-cabinet officials (assistant secretary, commissioner, etc.) are usually considered notable, especially if they have had otherwise notable careers. )
BellaNYork (talk) 16:52, 15 September 2024 (UTC)
It may be helpful to compare with the entry for former Las Cruces Mayor, Ken Miyagishima. Intention of latest edition is to create a similar entry for Bregman, with similar tone and proper support material.
:@BellaNYork: in a word, no. Civil servants are not inherently notable, and neither is sub-state anyone, whether in a political or administrative role. :@San1976Marino: nobody is saying that all your sources are unreliable, only that some are. User-generated content in particular is not considered reliable, because it isn't subject to editorial oversight; to put it bluntly, anyone can publish any old rubbish they want. In the case of this draft, that means Bookbaby, YouTube and SoundCloud.
:The bigger problem is that too much of the content is unsupported by any sources. From what source did you get the DOB? Where does the info in the 'Early life and education' section come from, or in 'Musician'? Articles on living people (WP:BLP) have particularly strict referencing requirements, and pretty much every statement needs to be clearly backed up by a reliable source. :Don't write articles WP:BACKWARD, which is what you are doing. You should find sources first, before you write a single word. Your sources should meet the three criteria in WP:Golden Rule. And write in your own words. Don't use an AI. :@Fsekoech: due to technical limitations, a draft can only be declined for at most two reasons. If it has several declinable issues, then it is possible for each reviewer to decline it for different reasons. :First of all, good job adding more sources to the article. Based on the current references, I would say the subject is definitely notable. Hello, I would like some help understanding why my draft was declined. The reviewer noted that the references do not demonstrate notability and that I need more reliable, independent secondary sources.
In my draft, I cited three independent news articles (Kuwait Times, Madhyamam, and Manorama Online) that directly cover the project. I also cited the official company website for technical details (such as the robot’s specifications and ecosystem), since I couldn’t find those details in news reports.

The Moriyama Teshima Architects article I had drafted for creation has been in review since March 6th (+/- 6 months). I suspect the delay has to do with the submission having been declined, though all of the comments made by editors were applied promptly. Is there any way I can improve my odds of having it reviewed and approved within a reasonable timeframe? Thank you! JLzero02 (talk) 14:32, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
Could the inclusion of the company website as a supporting source have been the problem? If so, am I allowed to use the website only for factual details (like names of components, patent numbers, etc.) while keeping the news articles as the independent coverage that demonstrates notability?

:@JLzero02: just for the record, we count waiting times from the most recent submission, which in this case was c. 3 ½ months ago. Still quite a long time, but not as bad as 6 months.
:A draft with 50+ citations will tend to put off reviewers. Personally, I would take out the entire 'Major Projects' section and the corresponding sources, or at least cut it down dramatically to the most notable ones only.
:Either in addition to or instead of that, you could highlight the 3-5 sources that you feel are strongest in terms of establishing notability according to the WP:NCORP guideline. This would mean that the reviewer wouldn't have to sift through all 52 to find the few that really matter.
:While this wouldn't necessarily expedite the review per se, it might at least encourage a reviewer who comes across this draft to review it rather than to groan and move swiftly on... -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 14:57, 17 September 2024 (UTC)

Would an AfC reviewer mind taking a look at :Thomas Hui To? It appears to have been submitted for review by the article's creator, who then moved it directly to the mainspace themselves a few weeks later. There's also some mention of the creator being "connected" to the subject in a post made at :Talk:Thomas Hui To: so, their moving the draft to the mainspace themselves could be an issue per :WP:COIEDIT. The article has already been drafitified once by another user; so, perhaps that option is no longer available any longer. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:25, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
::::The issue in question when I spoke to the reviewer "Như Gây Mê" was a lack of notability, but it seems even by the most pessimistic metric of evaluation the subject would qualify under Wikipedia's standards. The reviewer replied to me in broken English without sufficiently providing an explanation for their evaluation: "Hi, I think this is not the right time for me to publish your article, the information is still too little to show the notability of the subject." So I'm asking for another staff member to evaluate the notability requirements of the individual/the article and if they do indeed suffice then I believe that yes, the article should be published based on that being the "issue" of the article. If that "asks" for a faster review, then I guess that's the answer? But it was more of a prior concern with how this requirement was being evaluated.

My page was declined and would like some help in making it approvable. "This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources. The content of this submission includes material that does not meet Wikipedia's minimum standard for inline citations." These are the comments that were left. How can I find "reliable" resources and what does the second comment refer to? Is there a minimum number of citations/footnotes that are required? :@Elesha1188: now declined for the third time. As I said in my comments two declines ago, primary sources do not establish notability per WP:ORG, and that's all your draft cites. We need to see significant coverage of this organisation in multiple secondary sources. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 05:17, 2 September 2025 (UTC)
:The guideline page Wikipedia:Reliable sources gives helpful guidance on identifying reliable sources. Think: expert-written articles, major news organizations, academic journals, etc. There is not a minimum number of required citations, but it is good practice to add inline citations (referring to these: [1][2][3]), for all the facts included in your draft. == Requesting Review for Draft:Dhiman (Caste) ==
The above Draft article about Sudarshan Kapur should be entered into Wikipedia proper. It was recently written (since November 2023, and by elfelix starting April 2024); it includes information once mistakenly contained in another Wikipedia article ("Sudarshan Kapoor"). Apparently the reason why the above Draft article was not 'in due course' published on Wikipedia is due to its conflation with that prior article of a similar name: "Sudarshan Kapoor".
Hello! I have created and submitted a draft article titled Draft:Dhiman (Caste). I have done my best to follow Wikipedia's guidelines regarding notability, neutrality, and sourcing.
The article Sudarshan Kapoor, by mistake, used to contained information about Sudarshan Kapur. This mistaken information in the Kapoor article was deleted on June 6, 2024.
I would appreciate it if an editor could take a look and provide feedback or review it for publication. Thank you for your time and help!
The basic difference between these two articles is already stated above.
Indiauser1971 (talk) 08:55, 2 September 2025 (UTC)
The reasons for the mistaken conflation of Kapur and Kapoor: 1) both are American professors of similar age, originally from India, with a career focus on Gandhi and nonviolent political action; 2) it seems that a person of India with such a name might transliterate it to either Kapur or to Kapoor.

My article was declined due to unreliable resources. However, my resources, i.e. the news articles cited, are credible, but I believe the reason that they are being flagged is because the url to these articles require subscriptions to view. Because these are historic newspapers, from the 1970s, while they may not be easily accessible they can be located with a few extra steps.

:I believe the reviewer was more concerned about its sparse sourcing rather than reliability. Many of the claims present are not backed up with a inline citation, and contains unattributed opinions. Text like " The events of November 16, 1972, may have tested their endurance, but their unwavering commitment to the development of Black social consciousness remains and will continue to be an everlasting legacy." belongs in an argumentative essay, not in an encyclopedia. I've been through the guidelines but don't understand what is missing. Please could you help?
:Hi @Jcgaylor. You've submitted the draft for review - but you will note that the top of the draft states This may take 7 weeks or more, since drafts are reviewed in no specific order. There are 2,139 pending submissions waiting for review. <span style="background-color: RoyalBlue; border-radius: 1em; padding: 3px 3px 3px 3px;"><span style="color: GhostWhite">qcne</span> <small><span style="color: GhostWhite">(talk)</span></small></span> 19:14, 2 September 2025 (UTC)

::Right... which is why I said it is under review and am seeking feedback on how to improve it in the meantime... Jcgaylor (talk) 19:15, 2 September 2025 (UTC)

:::But, that's what a review is for: to give feedback on how to improve it. You're asking for a prereview, which we don't really do. However, what might make it easier for reviewers to review the draft is for you to highlight on the Draft Talk Page the three (and only three) best sources that each meet: independent of the commission (not based off their website, or a press release, or an interview with staff, or any kind of primary source); devote significant transformational coverage to the commission (some kind of critical analysis, debate, discussion, commentary etc). <span style="background-color: RoyalBlue; border-radius: 1em; padding: 3px 3px 3px 3px;"><span style="color: GhostWhite">qcne</span> <small><span style="color: GhostWhite">(talk)</span></small></span> 19:22, 2 September 2025 (UTC)
