== Major Revision ==

After some work on it, I've written a major revision on this article in my [[User:Moderately Sized Greg/sandbox|sandbox]]. The changes are restricted to the Estimation section.

My thinking in proposing these changes is that, currently, the information in the article feels a bit to narrowly focused. The article does not cover learning-based methods at all and the discussion about the brightness constancy constraint is restricted to its linearised version. Strictly speaking, there are methods that do not linearise the brightness constancy constraint that still require regularisation due to the aperture problem. My changes aim to address these issues.

I feel that the majority of the information in the article as it stands will be mostly there in the revision and I believe that I have expanded the focus of the optical flow page to give a brief overview of regularised and parameteric optical flow strategies and briefly touch on learning-based models.
