Welcome!
My name is Fawzi Sdudah, and I am a new Libyan Wikipedian studying at Queen's University. I enjoy contributing to Wikipedia as I undertake my research. This activity helps me in research itself. byIt keepingkeeps me tuned, engaged and inspired. My writing and well-informed.technical Icommunication learnskills aimprove lotas fromI Wikipediacontribute. My reading and socritical thinking skills also rocket as new horizons are discovered. Therefore I would like to give back.

I have started wikiing since Nov. 2006, but I am a long time clientcitizen of Wikipedia since its beginnings. At this stage I create stubs, that is, articles with minimal content. It is most likely that I would return back to stubs I create to elaborate on. You may notice that my user page needs "some" clean up. In Wikipedia's terminology it is a stub.

Here are the articles I have seeded and some that I have contributed to

I have helped in obtaining permission to use Mathematical Programming Glossary in Wikipedia. Other small stuff like resolving links, correcting typos.

Wiktionary
My inroads into Wiktionary!! I have some linguistics interests which hopefully may grow bigger.

"GETTING PUBLISHED is important for promotion and tenure in the academic community, and publication can do much to bolster the careers of engineers in industry. Have you ever published a paper in an IEEE transactions journal? [snip]. Some say that one transactions paper can be worth four conference papers in terms of prestige. If you’re already a university professor, transactions publications help you become better known and can lead toward being elected an IEEE Fellow or to receiving other awards and honors." from Tips for Getting A Transactions Article Published

*Acknowledgment of the source makes a use fair. Giving the name of the photographer or author may help, but it is not sufficient on its own. While plagiarism and copyright violation are related matters—both can, at times, involve failure to properly credit sources—they are not identical. Copyright law protects exact expression, not ideas: for example, a distant paraphrase that lays out the same argument as a copyrighted essay is in little danger of being deemed a copyright violation, but it could still be plagiarism. On the other hand, one can plagiarize even a work that is not protected by copyright, such as trying to pass off a line from Shakespeare as your own. Plagiarism—using someone's words, ideas images, etc. without acknowledgment—is a matter of professional ethics. Copyright is a matter of law. Citing sources generally prevents accusations of plagiarism, but is not a sufficient defense against copyright violations (otherwise, anyone could legally reprint an entire copyrighted book just by citing who wrote it). Check the entire article, Fair use.

*"A provincial act called the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act Revised. R.S.O. 1987 c.25 ensures free access of individuals to public records and information about themselves. In other words, a student has the right to see a copy of your recommendation unless s/he is willing to sign a waiver. If you have no objections, this problem can be circumvented by giving a copy of the recommendation to the student." BibTex2Word2007 is a BibTex to Word 2007 Bibliography (References) Converter based on the awk programming language. Alpha version completed today 3:14 AM, Tuesday, March 13, 2007. So far to this writing, I have never found any tool like this online. That is why I have developed it myself.
