** I'm not proposing creating a hard limit of the universe. It would still be possible to enter items that violate constraints by entering the items ID. In most cases it would just require a conscious choice to violate the constraint. A user would have to specifically search for the item and enter the ID.

* As an advocate of data literacy I'd like to stress that teaching wikidata is like teaching a almost totally new wiki, and that's boring, but once they've learned people are much more self-sufficient than on a local wikipedia. Approx. 10% of them enjoy the new platform, and they do in the end a terrific job. The linear (sometimes simple) tasks of wikidata can be handled in the end by a limited but motivated workforce on their area of interest (my test was and is done on local geography items, for example). That's my experience. There are also smaller improvements that might help in any case. I would suggest a real discussion about wikidata and "wikidata-newbies", some sort of survey during the following year, and than based on the feedback decide if the most urgent request is a new type of interface or some other type of approach (targeting potentially motivated new editors I'm sure it's possible too). Just to be clear: I am not again this proposal, on the contrary, but I would really like to see some accurate planning here.
