The '''The Ecuador composting method''' is a waytraditional ofsmall-scale [[composting]] whichtechnique iscommonly widely usedpracticed in the lowlandslowland regions of [[Ecuador]] and [[Peru]]. TheThis compostmethod pileinvolves isconstructing embededa oncompost thepile treeon a [[Trunk (botany)|trunk]]s or [[pseudo trunk|banana stalks]].Inwith thea middlecentral therepole isinserted erectedin athe palemiddle. On the trunks/stalks [[Biomass|organicOrganic matter]] is placedlayered inon layers.the Eachbase layer isand covered bywith [[mud]]soil or inlayed via different type ofother organic matter. WhenAfter the pile isreaches ofa aboutcertain 1.2 m of highheight, it is watered and covered bywith biglarge leaves. AfterOnce some time, whenthe compost pilesettles, lie down,the central palepole is removed forto facilitate [[areationaeration]]. This composting method is donetypically in a small-scale,used by indigenous villagerscommunities and serves as an effective way to recycle organic waste in these regions.
