[[プラットホーム#形状と配置|単式・島式ホーム]]各1面の2面3線を有する[[地上駅]]。3番線の山側に[[留置線]]が1本ある。[[みどりの窓口]]（営業時間：6:30 - 20:00 ※途中休止時間帯あり）、簡易[[Suica]]改札機設置駅。以前は[[木構造 (建築)|木造]]平屋建ての駅舎であったが、[[2007年]][[8月9日]]に観光案内所を併設した新駅舎の供用が開始された。駅前広場の整備は完了している。[[館山駅]]管理。2010年2月10日より外房線PRC型自動放送（路線上は内房線であるが外房線CTCの管轄）が導入された。
