It is said to have begun when the class of 1982 who came up with the idea of holding a festival that would allow people with various talents from all over the country to meet, compete and enjoy themselves. Now, more than 25 years old, Spring Spree has grown to be ranked among the major festivals of [[Andhra Pradesh]] and India. Spring Spree is usually a three day event held anytime between February and March of every year.

Spring Spree is a student festival, solely conducted by the student community of the college. Spring Spree has its core committee of students who are designated core areas of responsibility, thus making the whole process function-specific. The core areas include sponsorship, publicity, event management, logistics and hospitality. A student coordinator oversees the Spree work and works in close conjunction with a university-appointed staff advisor.
