'''Robeson Channel''' ({{coor dmcoord|82|000|N|61061|30|W|region:CA-NU_type:waterbody_scale:2000000|display=inline,title|name=Robeson Channel}}) is a body of water lying between [[Greenland]] and [[Canada]]'s most northerlynorthernmost island, [[Ellesmere Island]]. It is the most northerly part of [[Nares Strait]], linking [[KennedyHall ChannelBasin]] to the south with the [[Arctic Ocean]] to the north. The [[Newman Fjord]] in Greenland has its mouth in the Robeson Channel.
 
It is about {{convert|50 [[mile]]s (80 km)|mi|abbr=on}} in length and between {{convert|11 to |and|18 miles (18 to 29 km)|mi|abbr=on}} wide. [[Alert, Nunavut|Alert]], the world's most northerly permanently- inhabited settlement, lies nearby.
 
It was named during the 1871 [[Polaris Expedition]], for American [[George Robeson]], Secretary of the Navy in the [[Ulysses S. Grant]] administration.
