'''Mighty the [[Armadillo]]''' is a fictional character in the [[Sonic the Hedgehog]] universe. In some continuities, he is a member of the Team [[Chaotix]] group. His character designer is [[Naoto Ohshima]].

Though many wonder why Mighty was left out of the Chaotix team in ''[[Sonic Heroes]]'', examination of the Japanese instruction booklet to ''[[Knuckles Chaotix]]'' reveals that the Chaotix were originally a detective agency consisting of Espio, Charmy, and Vector. Mighty, on the other hand, was an [[explorer]], and a long time aquaintance of Sonic the Hedgehog, who just happened to stumble into the adventure portrayed in ''Knuckles Chaotix'' during his exploration.

Mighty has appeared in two games, ''[[SegaSonic the Hedgehog|SegaSonic Arcade]]'' (aka ''Sonic Arcade'') and ''[[Knuckles' Chaotix]]'', and also in [[Gale Racer]], the ''[[Sega Saturn]]'' version of the Arcade game Rad Mobile, as a cameo. He has also been a playable character into two Sonic 1 hacks, one self-titled, and the other called [[Sonic Gaiden]], with both Sonic and Mighty playable in the latter.
==Personality==
In the games, ''Mighty'', is a pacifist and is gentle and caring. He loves to travel, and his dream is to travel to all places of the world.
In the Archie comics, Mighty isn't as impatient as [[Sonic the Hedgehog]] but he does have a bad temper. He has a strong rivalry with [[Espio the Chameleon]] and likes to lift weights and brag about his strength. Despite this, Mighty is actually quite humble, even if he doesn't show at times. He's good friends with everybody and helps them whenever they need it.
In Sonic the Comic, Mighty is portrayed as a strong and brave character whose main flaw is his occasional lack of forethought.
==Archie comics==
In the [[Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie)|Archie comics continuity]], Mighty lived a regular life on the Floating Island as he grew up. He and Sonic are close friends as they met several years ago in an unknown base run by [[Doctor Eggman|Robotnik]] that they shut down with the help of a squirrel named [[Ray the Squirrel|Ray]].
Mighty joined up with the Chaotix when Robotnik threatened the Happyland Amusement Park. Since then, Mighty has helped [[Knuckles the Echidna|Knuckles]] in his task of guarding the Floating Island and is loyal to Knuckles' cause as one of the founding members of [[Chaotix]]. Mighty also had his hand in being the first to meet [[Charmy Bee]] upon his venture to the Floating Island and introducing the bee to all his friends there.
Mighty is as strong as Sonic is fast. He can jump up the steepest of walls with ease and accelerate to great speed by kicking off a wall and hitting the ground running.
==Sonic the Comic==
In [[Sonic the Comic]], the UK Sonic Comic, Mighty is introduced alongside Vector, Charmy, Espio and [[Fang the Sniper|Nack the Weasel]], with the group collectively being known as the Chaotix Crew. In this continuity, Mighty has proved to be a valuable asset to the team on a number of occasions and is one of the top fighters in the comic, running very close to Knuckles, making him an ally of Sonic.
He has a strong yet friendly rivalry with Espio- that is to say, they remain close friends and allies, but neither one will ever admit the other is better and have gotten into some heated arguments and the occasional fight over the matter. As with the rest of the crew, he often vents his frustrations on Charmy, though not in a physical manner.
