Here, "3D" is not in the sense of Stereoscopy, which is a (subjective) optical effect. Fluorescence microscopy really registers three dimensional distributions. Default007 08:31, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

Theory: explanation of θ_max,r required
I think adding a ray diagram explaining terms like θ_max and r will be more helpful in understanding the process of partial interception of spherical wave field by lens. For example, r described as "..r is radial distance in the image plane.." does not clarify which radial distance has been mentioned here. <span style="font-size: smaller;" class="autosigned">— Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.185.236.53 (talk) 11:25, 27 April 2013 (UTC)</span><!-- Template:Unsigned IP --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

Airy Function equal to J1(x)/x?
Can you either provide a reference for this statement:
" In addition, a uniform function over a circular area (in one FT ___domain) corresponds to the Airy function, J1(x)/x in the other FT ___domain, where J1(x) is the first-order Bessel function of the first kind. "
or correct it? Airy function is not quite what you say it is...

Introduction
This does not have a sufficient introduction. At the very least it should state that the PSF is light intensity as a function of 2D position on a plane. 107.167.244.42 (talk) 01:00, 25 March 2022 (UTC)

Figure typo
There is a typo in figure 3: "Application of PSF: Deconvolution of the mathematically modeled PSF and the low-resolution image enhances the resolution.". The asterisk is labeled "Devonvolution" when it should be "Deconvolution"
