In computer science, a '''hash tree''' (or '''hash [[trie]]''') is a [[persistent data structure]] that can be used to implement [[Set (abstract data type)|sets]] and [[Associative array|maps]], intended to replace [[hash table]]s in [[purely functional]] programming]].
