The [[University of Oregon]] Department of Computer and Information Science was founded in 1970. Deschutes Hall was built on the [[Campus of the University of Oregon|UO campus]] for the department in 1990. Construction of the building was funded primarily through a [[United States Department of Energy]] grant sponsored by Oregon governor [[Victor G.
