== Origin of the name Birkdale ==
The claim that William Thorne named it after his birth place is a problem. William Thorne was born and lived in Shebbear, Devon in England but I cannot find anything relating to a Birkdale in that area. [[User:Kerry Raymond|Kerry]] ([[User talk:Kerry Raymond|talk]]) 01:12, 11 October 2017 (UTC)

I check pages listed in [[:Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting]] to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for [[User:AnomieBOT/docs/OrphanReferenceFixer|orphaned references]] in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of [[:Birkdale, Queensland]]'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for ''this'' article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
