The History of Addison County[http://www.middlebury.edu/academics/lis/lib/guides_and_tutorials/subject_guides/collection_guide-vermont/internet_resources/history_addison_county/chap15_hac.htm], published in 1886, lists November 8, 1797, as the date of the charter of the Addison County Grammar School (page 344), as established by act of the state legislature. It may not have been active, however, until the new year.

Additionally, it establishes that the legislature granted the College's charter to the "President and Fellows of Middlebury College" (page 347), the legal name of the corporation today. The use of "Middlebury Academy" is not clear, but it is unlikely the degree-granting institution was known as that.

The 21st Century section hasn't been updated since 2019. There should be a paragraph describing the effects of the Covid pandemic on the College and community. An additional paragraph could describe Middlebury's "For Every Future" fundraiser campaign to raise $600 million in donations.
