It is good to see a lot of participation from Yarmouth! However, it is important that everyone know I'm a bit of c$nt what is written is academic, encyclopedic and neutral. Right now, there are sections, especially the description at the end of history of the centre of the town, and the tourism section, that read like advertising or tourism material. To make this an A+ article, read Wikipedia:How_to_write_a_great_article and lets tidy this article up! Thanks WayeMason 10:35, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
Well WAYE I live in Yarmouth and what I have written is factual if you would like to take me on fact for fact go for it. Regards Rod Hemeon
Here is on example - Heritage and genealogical tourism is being developed in the Town, museums, art galleries and historic bed and breakfasts are attracting tourists of all ages and especially the retiring baby-boomers. The Firefighters' Museum is a hit with young and old. is a great example of something that is not written in the tone of an encyclopedia. It reads like advertising. I changed the tag to something less accusatory, more constructive... WayeMason 11:57, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
:I have toned down the POV for the toursity bits, made them more factual and moved them to standard "Culture" and "Buildings and Structures" sections along with appropriate sources.Letterofmarque (talk) 23:05, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
This paragraph is questionable: "From 2005 to 2009 Yarmouth was home to the biggest queer and the self proclaimed best Welder in Canada (Which was total bullshit) His name was Andrew Fraser." <span style="font-size: smaller;" class="autosigned">—Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.181.25.30 (talk) 20:22, 7 August 2010 (UTC)</span><!-- Template:UnsignedIP --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->
Mako Shark
For your interest a record Mako shark was caught 48 miles off the coast of Yarmouth, NS. Are you nervous about swimming out there?? Green Squares (talk) 16:17, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas
This section is important as the myth that the song was written in Yarmouth as been a persistent claim in Yarmouth - promoted by the Chamber of Commerce, CBC radio as well as various commercial operators. I have taken care to footnote and link the facts on this notion. Clarifying myths with facts is an important encyclopedic function.Letterofmarque (talk) 03:40, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

:That his trip to Yarmouth is not listed in a timeline of notable events in his life is not surprising, and I suspect the vacations in most historical peoples' lives would not be included in such a timeline. In addition, no reference is made on either site against the claim. Neither offer any information about the history of the song itself or the circumstances in which it was written. While that doesn't mean it's true, it also doesn't mean its false. If reputable sources such as CBC claim it to be true and no real sources exist to say it's not, we can't make stuff up - Wikipedia is not a place for original research. -Addionne (talk) 17:38, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

1759 settlement date
I don't think any of the Yarmouth references I have read mention a 1759 settlement from Yarmouth, MA. Anyone have a citation for this point? Meters (talk) 04:05, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
Orphaned references in :Yarmouth, Nova Scotia
I check pages listed in :Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of :Yarmouth, Nova Scotia's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT<span style="color:#888800;">⚡</span> 16:42, 30 November 2016 (UTC)

I propose to copy edit the history section and remove detail covered in linked pages such as MV Bluenose, CN Marine, Scotia Prince Cruises, etc. --Cornellier (talk) 13:05, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
