'''Edward Michael Sloan,''' (born [[March 13]], [[1973]] in [[Columbia, South Carolina]]), better known as '''Ed Sloan,''' is an [[United States|American]] musician. He is the lead vocalist and guitarist of the [[metal]] group [[Crossfade]]. He plays a [[Seven-string guitar]].
At the age of eight, he started playing piano and soon thereafter started playing the guiar. In high school, he and friend [[Mitch James]] started a band called [[The Nothing]]. Drummer [[Brian Geiger]] and DJ [[Tony Byroads]] later joined and the group was renamed [[Sugardaddy Superstar]]. Sloan went to college at the [[University of South Carolina]], majoring in computer programming. Soon after, [[Sugarddaddy Superstar]] began to record their own music in a studio (which the band called [[Sugarstar Studios]]) built in Sloan's home. The group was signed by [[Columbia Records]] and changed their name to [[Crossfade]]. They released ''[[Crossfade]]'' in 2004, and two years later, released another album called ''[[Falling Away]]''.
