Ms. Joesoef is the eldest daughter (and the second of four children) of Dr. Sumarsono Sastrowardoyo, a physician, surgeon and memoirist, and the late Ina Sastrowardoyo. An older brother, IwanAriawan Sastrowardoyo, died in 1995. She also has anotherAnother brother, Dr. Aswin W.
