:Hello, @MylesContributes. Your sandbox User:MylesContributes/sandbox was declined (which means it could be submitted again if you edit it to address the problems) becuase it does not have a single independent source.
:A Wikipedia article should be a neutral summary of what several people wholly unconnected with the subject have independently chosen to publish about the subject in reliable publications, and not much else.
:If you do not have several sources each of which meets all the criterai in WP:42, then no article on the subject is possible.

The company, whom this page is about, is a major property developer in Bangalore India. With over 50 properties to date. I was going to expand on this with more information from more sources when i found them, but it was removed before i had the chance. I think this is notable enough to be included on wikipedia, as their direct competitors such as Sobha Ltd. have a page of their own.

Hello, I am new to Wikipedia and my draft article about the scientist "CHAOGEJILATU" was recently declined. The reason given was that there is not enough significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources.

As a beginner, I would greatly appreciate kind advice from experienced editors:
Usernameisentered (talk) 05:54, 29 March 2019 (UTC)

- What kinds of sources would be sufficient to demonstrate notability for a scientist?
::Usernameisentered - articles require multiple high quality secondary sources. Company articles require the highest level of sourcing quality (corporate notability). Currently the draft has 3 sources all from the company's website.
- Are academic journal publications (where the subject is a co-author) acceptable as significant coverage, or do I need more independent media coverage such as newspapers, interviews, or magazines?
- If my current references are not enough, what steps should I take to improve the draft so that it has a realistic chance of being accepted?

Thank you very much for your time and support.
::It shouldn't be submitted to AfC until you think that it meets our various requirements for being an article.

:Hello, @CHAOGEJILATU. As you have been advised on your user talk page, writing a Wikipedia article about yourself is so extremetly difficult that you are strongly discouraged from trying.
::With regard to Sobha Ltd., have a look at the sourcing list. Obviously you don't need anywhere near as many good sources, but 4 in-depth, reliable, independent secondary sources would be good. Some additional content (would also be beneficial. Nosebagbear (talk) 21:32, 30 March 2019 (UTC)

:You would need to find several places where people wholly unconnected with you (or with any of your institutions) had decided to write about you, in reliable publications.
:If you can find several such sources, you would then need to effectively forget everything you know about yourself and write a neutral summary of what those sources said about you. Do you see why this is so difficult?
: And that is even without the added problems of writing about yourself. ColinFine (talk) 13:47, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
::There are topics that may fail a strict application of WP:GNG but might be notable by other measures. WP:BAND offers many alternatives for music ensembles, for example.
::In this case, we have a guideline WP:NPROF, which might be applicable to scientists in academia. One could also make an argument that a scientist is notable based on an influence factor, provided that influence factor is way beyond what's expected of an average scientist at that point in their career. I don't recall seeing this reasoning covered by our policies; indeed, most of the time I've seen these scores used is to argue against notability for run-of-the-mill academics.
::Winning a notable award would qualify for notability, even for a scientist who was previously obscure, although a Nobel Prize winner would probably have lots of coverage anyway as a consequence of winning the prize. ~Anachronist <small>(talk)</small> 16:35, 28 August 2025 (UTC)

Hi, I have a question about the declined draft of my article. The reviewer said that there are not enough independet sources to prove that the article is relevant. In his opionion the mentioned sources are rather like advertisement for the company. In the German wikipedia the same article was accepted. Could you help me plesae to improve the content so that the article will be published? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Thank you for any advice on how I can proceed constructively within Wikipedia’s policies.
I submitted this page yesterday, and it got rejected for not passing the NCORP criteria. I'm wondering how I could improve that, because the sources used (I think) are independent and reliable.
Kirtan kalathiya (talk) 10:45, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
In addition, the person reviewing said it was "somewhat promotional". But in comparison to another company in the same industry (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zimperium) I can't really tell where I'm promotional.

I am unsure why my draft is getting rejected. It feels like it is fit for wikipedia as it states information that is 100% fact, no fiction. :I'm extremely confused by the article. You're writing an article Ipsen Bottle, but most of the cites seem more fitting for an article about its creator, and don't really talk much, if it all, about the named type of bottle. If you decided to cover the bottle, you need to provide sources about the bottle that explain why and how the bottle itself is notable. But a good place to start is to just sit and decide what you want this article to be about, and then write based on only those sources that provide significant coverage about the subject. Hello Wikipedians, I'm kindly asking for advice. Many months ago, I created a draft on the Bihler company (Draft:Otto Bihler Maschinenfabrik). It has since been declined multiple times, but I don't quite understand why. It is said that WP:NCORP is not met. However, in that draft, I have demonstrated, using a source assessment table, why I believe that the Bihler company has been the subject of significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. I know that not every source that I have cited falls within the WP:SIRS criteria, but still, I feel that, the number of sources that do, is sufficient. It would be very helpful to have a second thought on this. Any advice is very much appreciated. Thank you! @ User:Novem Linguae. -- Casa Coto (talk) 08:37, 28 August 2025 (UTC)

:I haven't done a detailed analysis yet, but if other reviewers are still declining it, maybe your source assessment table is being too generous. Do all your sources have 3 meaty paragraphs of detail about the company? Are they independent (i.e. no press releases disguised as articles, no articles that are mostly quotations, no advertorials, etc)? Is at least one of the sources regional, national, or international? These are all things needed to pass WP:NCORP and WP:GNG. See also User:Novem Linguae/Essays/Nuances of GNG and User:Novem Linguae/Essays/Novem's words of wisdom #6. It's been 2 months since you submitted this... if you think it passes, maybe submit it again and add a comment asking for detailed source feedback in the event of a decline. Hope this helps. :* You list the Hesse source as secondary, but describe it as an encyclopedia. That means it's a tertiary source.
:* You assess four sources in total to meet the criteria of reliable, independent, and significant coverage. Those would be good sources, but...
:* it isn't clear that they provide significant coverage of the company, its products, the punch-bending process, or Otto Bihler himself. Those are four different topics, and this draft is about one topic. For example, the Kolbe source discusses the technology and how the machine works, but what about the company, which is the topic of this draft?
:The assessment table is a great start, but reading it only brings up more questions. ~Anachronist <small>(talk)</small> 15:16, 28 August 2025 (UTC)

Hello,

My draft, "Draft:Radio Duhok," has been declined multiple times due to a lack of "in-depth coverage" from reliable, independent sources, according to the last reviewer.

I have tried my best to find good sources and have included:
Hello, after my fail of my draft, I would like to know 5 reasons it has been declined. I wanted it accepted by my term just to share a review of the official gme. I want to know.
1. Two official announcements from the Duhok Governorate's website congratulating the radio on its anniversary.

2. A feature article about the radio in the well-known regional "Gulan Magazine" (Issue 829, 2010), which refers to it as the "authentic voice of the governorate."
: Wikipedia is not for random game cruft. Topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. Sources are not reliable. Sources do not show significant coverage. Could an experienced editor please take a look at these sources and provide some feedback? I am struggling to understand why these are considered insufficient for notability. Specifically, I would like to know if the Gulan Magazine article is just a "brief mention" and what an example of an "in-depth" source would look like for a subject like this.

Hi, my very first article on the en_wikipedia was just declined as it appears to "read more like an advertisement". The review didn't go into details about which sentences or paraphrases need to be re-written so I'd like to have some help here. I tried to include different sources and make the article as neutral as possible. I didn't include any (negative) critics because I didn't really find one. As to my motivation for this article; I listen to her music and was looking for a Wikipedia article but didn't find one so I decided to start one. I contacted the management of her during the article process but ask them to not intervene with the article writing.

If deemed suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, who should write the article? Obviously my daughter, as a journalist, could do a good job, but also obviously she has a major CoI.

I am requesting assistance with my draft article Draft:Trinity_Private_School. Each word of the text was written manually without the use of AI tools. However, three times I received feedback that the draft was written by AI. I respectfully emphasize that I wrote the article myself, and therefore I ask you to indicate exactly which sentences or parts appear to you as AI-generated.
In addition, I was told that my sources are “not relevant.” Could you please clarify how relevance is determined? For example, The Heritage Private School article was accepted with only one source, while my draft contains 17 independent sources, yet it has not passed review.
Finally, the article cannot be considered promotional, because it contains no evaluative or laudatory language. I removed all subjective judgments and left only verifiable, encyclopedic content supported by citations.
I would greatly appreciate clear feedback on what exactly prevents the draft from being accepted and what specific improvements are required. Newacctowork (talk) 11:32, 29 August 2025 (UTC)

:@Newacctowork: you will note that the most recent decline, by me, was not for AI but for promotionality and lack of any evidence of notability.
BletchleyPark (talk) 18:48, 30 March 2019 (UTC)
:You then resubmitted the draft without any attempt at addressing those reasons. Why did you do that? Are you disputing my review, or did you think if you keep submitting it will eventually go through by brute force? You only have finite number of chances, so I would suggest you make the most of them.
:Likely not suitable. Needs to have multiple reliable sources discuss the topic in detail. Don't write about stuff you are closely connected too. If some independent user determines the topic is notable they will write it up. Legacypac (talk) 20:16, 30 March 2019 (UTC)

::@DoubleGrazing No, I submitted it by accident. Could you please clarify what exactly needs to be fixed? I have already removed most of the adjectives that could make the text appear promotional. What further steps should I take? How can I rewrite it so that it reads as neutral, rather than advertising? Newacctowork (talk) 12:26, 29 August 2025 (UTC)
:::@Newacctowork: you're normally meant to summarise what the sources say. But on this occasion, those sources are just churnalism etc., therefore summarising them will only ever result in a promotional draft. So you should go back to square one and look for sources that are entirely independent of the subject (meaning no interviews, press releases, advertorials, sponsored content, etc.) and base your draft on them. Personally, I doubt you will find such sources, but nothing to stop you trying. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 12:40, 29 August 2025 (UTC)

:::::@Newacctowork: don't concern yourself with any other articles that may exist, we're talking about whether your draft can be accepted; WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS is invariably a red herring.
:::::The long and short of it is that the vast majority of schools are not notable enough to justify an article. At two years old, this school is basically a startup, and the vast majority of startups are likewise not notable. Any media coverage that may exist is therefore almost by definition likely to originate in the school's marketing team, as is clearly the case with the sources cited in this draft. If the school was a major new initiative or an attempt at educational reform by the gov't of Cyprus, there might be independent mainstream media coverage of it, but here we're talking about a niche private school for a particular group of expats. As I said, you're welcome to search for better sources, but I wouldn't hold my breath. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 13:01, 29 August 2025 (UTC)

Can this be considered a biased approach? What does the marketing team have to do with it, if there is no link to any commercial offer and not a single word about cost? This is exactly what concerns me: does it comply with Wikipedia rules that a school without media coverage is published, while a school with coverage is not? For Cyprus, these media are public and authoritative. For comparison, my house has also stood since 1987. Hi my article got denied for the reason that it does not qualify for a Wikipedia article due to not having reliable sources. I'm trying to aim for the notability that the album charted in a national music chart, specifically in the Oricon and Billboards charts. I just wanted to make sure that these links count towards reliability and notability under secondary or independent sources

Can anyone provide any guidance or input on the latest draft?
Regarding comments on 29 April by editor Paul W, a public media search likely supports relevance/notoriety for Sam Bregman, but that was not established with proper sources and citations.

Earlier entries for Sam Bregman were rejected for relevance, formatting, peacocking and lack of supporting citations. The latest edits attempt to remove problematic text, clean up formatting and citations, comply with tone and informational intentions of Wikipedia entries for public figures, and establish relevance.
Stanicmi (talk) 06:13, 31 March 2019 (UTC)

It may be helpful to compare with the entry for former Las Cruces Mayor, Ken Miyagishima. Intention of latest edition is to create a similar entry for Bregman, with similar tone and proper support material.

Hi there, can any admin/someone please review the recently submitted article here for approval. Thanks a lot! : - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Rahul_Akerkar
* Replaced weak/self-published links with strong independent sources (Forbes, Miami Herald, Vogue, New York Post, Purist, Yahoo).
* Corrected citations (ISBN for book, Vogue link, NYU Nexus PDFs confirming Acton Medal and Curatola Wing).

:Hello, @Thilio. You're misunderstanding independent. If an article is based on an interview or a press release, then it is not independent, irresepctive of who publishes it. Some of your sources certainly have that problem: some may be independent, I haven't looked.

Hello,
I will like to be educated on the vital websites that one can use to cite in line in an article i am writing. infact i need credible sites i can be using. Becuase i have beautiful aricles but i dont have citations for them and when i tried submitting a draft to be considered. It was declined and one of the reasons was that i didnt use credible citations.

and that i was using model language like chatgpt to write my articles.
There are companies providing similar services compared to the ones that SIGOS is offering, they're called Araxxe and Wedo technologies for example and they are on Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Araxxe - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WeDo_Technologies) so I don't understand why their articles got accepted and mine didn't.

So in summary, i need guidelines that can help me avoid declines when i post or publish my article through my sandbox.
I'm hoping you could give me some tips/tricks on how to improve my first own article (cause I'm still quite proud of it.)

I am a newbie but a passionate one at that. Thank you ProfZacchaeus (talk) 21:03, 31 August 2025 (UTC)
Thank you in advance for your help.

:Don't write articles WP:BACKWARD, which is what you are doing. You should find sources first, before you write a single word. Your sources should meet the three criteria in WP:Golden Rule. And write in your own words. Don't use an AI. ChatGPT is horrible at writing articles, and tends to hallucinate things and write in a non-neutral way, even though it may insist it's neutral.

:First of all, good job adding more sources to the article. Based on the current references, I would say the subject is definitely notable. However, the article still reads like an advertisement, and not a neutral encyclopedia article. Your edit after my last rejection did nothing to make the article's text less promotional. Hello, I would like some help understanding why my draft was declined. The reviewer noted that the references do not demonstrate notability and that I need more reliable, independent secondary sources.
Flag of South Bend, Indiana
}}

In my draft, I cited three independent news articles (Kuwait Times, Madhyamam, and Manorama Online) that directly cover the project. I also cited the official company website for technical details (such as the robot’s specifications and ecosystem), since I couldn’t find those details in news reports.
This article was declined for a comment stating that not enough sourcing was provided. The article links several sources from South Bend, Indiana's Municipal Code, in addition to a link to the official .gov website for the flag of South Bend, Indiana with identical information. This article and the official website were created in tandem, which is why information sourced is from the Municipal Code, not just "local papers".D574h (talk) 11:16, 2 April 2019 (UTC)
D574h (talk) 11:16, 2 April 2019 (UTC)

Could the inclusion of the company website as a supporting source have been the problem? If so, am I allowed to use the website only for factual details (like names of components, patent numbers, etc.) while keeping the news articles as the independent coverage that demonstrates notability?

Dear Editors,

I am a professional author, technical writer, and feature writer. So far I have no clear direction about an entry I have created on Peter G Demers. The subject has made notable contributions to the field of sports medicine and professional hockey. My approach and sourcing have been criticized and yet my submission meets and exceeds the approach and caliber of other pages on Wikipedia. Moreover, an image I have full copyrights to continues to be deleted.

I am appealing these changes, and requesting that the page on Peter G Demers be published, along with the image. I am glad to continue editing as needed but there has been zero clarity on what is expected. In addition, this page is modeled after existing Wikipedia pages and meets or exceeds that model.

Thank you,

:MarionPB I can refer you to WP:NHL, the ice hockey WikiProject, for sourcing and formatting advice, but I disagree with your claim that it "meets or exceeds" the page model; the section about his time with the Kings in particular seems quite WP:PUFFy. Thank you for your reply. I described the subject's experience as one would expect in a Wikipedia article. The person who is the subject of this article has contributed to hockey and to sports medicine in a notable way. I would like this page to successfully be published, and am willing to take the necessary steps to do so. The requirements seem to change however and the editors are condescending. I am a professional.

I also would like to know how to un-delete the photo I submitted. I have all copyright permission to the image and the pictured certificate contents. Yet the image continues to be deleted.

Do you have any women editors and writers? So far I haven't seen evidence of any.

Thanks.

:Hi MarionPB. Wikipedia's policies and guidelines are constantly changing, but the phenomenon you're experiencing is something different, what it's like to write for thousands of editors. Each reviewer may focus on something different.
:What leaps out at me is the draft's heavy reliance on frozenroyalty.net as a source. It's self-published, a blog written and published by Gann Matsuda. Wikipedia policy says, "Never use self-published sources as third-party sources about living people, even if the author is an expert, well-known professional researcher, or writer." You could replace frozenroyalty.net with a reliable source, remove all the content sourced from it, or wait until Pete Demers is dead. Without frozenroyalty.net, the draft has only two sources of any depth, Mass Live and Fox Sports. The latter is a primary source interview. To the extent that it's Demers talking about Demers, it may lack sufficient independence to help establish notability.
:I recommend setting aside for now the question of the photo. The presence or absence of a photo will have no effect on whether the draft is accepted for publication.
:Editors who choose to self-identify as female can be found in :Category:Female Wikipedians, but given the anonymous nature of editing, many editors choose not to disclose personal information. --Worldbruce (talk) 07:42, 3 April 2019 (UTC)

:Most of the sources that the draft cites are of extremely low quality: ibiblio.org, threadreaderapp, swamydesika.tripod.com, allaboutshoes.ca, ramanuja.org, indiadivine.org, fampeople.com, and anudinam.org. To have any hope of the draft being accepted, remove all of them and any content that came from them. For a topic of this nature there ought to be scholarly sources - books by academics published by university presses and articles by acadmics published in peer reviewed journals. I would like an independant listing for Cragend FArm and Cragend Silo please.
Cragside Estate do not own these buildings.
This is not promotion but fact. I do not know how else to prove what I am writing.

:Hi Lou Renwick. The reviewer of Draft:Cragend Farm left you good advice on the draft and on your talk page (where there are also useful links left by another editor when you were editing Cragside estate in January). You need to prove what you're writing by citing reliable sources. I've added a source to Draft:Cragend Silo as an example. If you need help finding sources, a local library or historical society would be a good place to start. You don't need many sources, 2-3 would be enough for a draft to be accepted, provided that they are high-quality sources. --Worldbruce (talk) 15:13, 3 April 2019 (UTC)

You wrote that the Article is not sufficiently notable.
The Ballroomdancer Luca Baricchi is for Ballroomdance like Michael Barischnikov for ballet. He developed Ballroomdance in his Career to the modern Form we see in this days.
There is an article about him on Wikipedia with his ex-wife ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luca_and_Loraine_Baricchi ) and an article for his ex-wife ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loraine_Barry ). The new Article is more detailed than the old one and show his career for a longer Periode of time.
Author Who (talk) 15:34, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
:Hi Author Who. The way to prove the reviewer wrong is to cite multiple, independent, reliable, secondary sources containing significant coverage of Luca Baricchi. The draft cites only one source, dancesportinfo.net, and that only for selected awards between 1993 and 2001. None of the prose in the draft cites a source. --Worldbruce (talk) 15:56, 3 April 2019 (UTC)

I'm new to publishing, have a number of (scanned) old school photos I purchase (pre-internet) and looking for advice on how to share via Wiki. What's the best approach? I've tried to contact the original photographer without success.

Gedgmoss (talk) 21:07, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
:Hi Gedgmoss. If by "old" you mean taken before 1924, then they are in the public ___domain and you may upload them to Wikimedia Commons. If they are newer than that, you probably can't legally share them online (there are a few exceptions, but they are complicated, and you would need to know a lot about the history of the image - when it was taken, when it was published, whether it was registered, whether it was renewed, who took it, when they died, etc.) The presence or absence of photos will have no effect on whether the draft is accepted or not, so I recommend that you forget about images for now and concentrate on the text. --Worldbruce (talk) 01:15, 4 April 2019 (UTC)

My potential article about Jodi Ann Arias was rejected:

"The reason left by Theroadislong was: This topic is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you reject all articles about famous prisoners or just mine?

Do you have any objective or impartial authors?

I used to be able to trust Wikipedia, however it has disappointed me too many times with faulty information and opinions posted as verified facts. Now, it replies with a patently absurd claim about an article it should have encouraged and posted long ago.

Wikipedia, please don't keep asking me to contribute. I've already corrected the defective writing of many of your authors (like the one that reviewed my article proposal) already. I will never contribute until the above decision changes.

I'm trying to create an entry for Efficient Power Conversion Corporation, which is a world leader in energy efficiency, but am having trouble. This is the text I want to include which comes from Bloomberg.

Efficient Power Conversion Corporation provides enhancement mode gallium nitride based power management devices. The company provides eGaN FETs, which provide designers employing various power conversion topology; full bridge, half bridge, buck converter, boost converter, PFC, flyback converter, forward converter, or LLC converter to attain performance enhancements compared with silicon power MOSFETs; eGaN Drivers that allow realization of the disruptive gains in high frequency and low duty cycle power conversion; EPC9083, a GaN-based differential mode development board for wireless power applications; demo and development boards; and wireless power demonstration kits. Its products are used in various applications, such as server and computer DC-DC converters, power over Ethernet, isolated brick converters, point-of-load converters, LED lighting, cell phones, RF transmission, solar micro-inverters, class-D audio amplifiers, and envelope tracking. I posed a couple of questions to the declining editor at Draft talk:Harry Gideonse, but he never responded. I really don't understand what I pointed out.

I had similar issues at Draft talk:Francis Kilcoyne. There, the same editor seemed to be saying that names of people and institutions - unchanged - were copyright violations.

As I understand it, this page is being rejected based on the idea I am involved in one way or another with S.Crasneanscki. I have denied this on my page. Now, I'm not in a strong position to edit so perhaps an editor might see the significance of this page and edit it themselves to make it whatever they deem suitable for publication. All the information needed is there.

I am asking for a review of this article as the person is notable in the media for his adventures and a list of accomplishments has been added, explaining the achievements further. (Apologies, this should have been added from the outset).
I appreciate the time taken to re-review this.

I am requiring assistance as my article has been rejected and I am unsure why, the reason is that it isn't suitable fir Wikipedia but why? I have seen many fashion limited companies listed on Wikipedia. Please let me know why our page has been rejected.

::There are three main reasons the draft was rejected. It wasn't "notable", which in Wikipedia terms, means there weren't sufficient "in-depth, independent, reliable secondary sources" (Newspapers, books etc). As a company you'll need at least 3 or 4 high quality sources. Lots of poor quality sources is not equivalent to a few good ones.

::The second is that it is promotional - we dislike people linked to a company writing it, because they are generally unable of doing so in the neutral way we require.

::The third issue is that your username indicates more than one person editing - if usernames have to be individual - edit it to be something like "Cool Guy1 at HotSquash London" (beginning can be whatever you want).

::As a side note, I suspect you are an employee of the company. If so, please say, as there are additional requirements you need to follow to avoid being blocked again.

::However - it's not worth doing that until you've found enough good secondary sources to indicate you can support an article on the company. Nosebagbear (talk) 17:53, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
