Hi editors, just wanted to ask what I can do to improve my draft and write it in a way that is aligned with Wikipedia's guide and tone. Thank you! IanResearch (talk) 03:12, 28 August 2025 (UTC)

:The draft just tells of the offerings and activities of the company; a Wikipedia article must do more, it must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the company, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable company.

The draft has been declined multiple times. I have already revised the wording to make the tone more neutral, but it was still labeled as containing false information. Could you please review the draft and provide guidance on how to correct the issues and bring it in line with Wikipedia’s requirements? What can I do?

Question 1 ) : Blatant self promotion created by the subject himself. - > For your kind information Subject is no more.

Hello Wikipedians, I'm kindly asking for advice. Many months ago, I created a draft on the Bihler company (Draft:Otto Bihler Maschinenfabrik). It has since been declined multiple times, but I don't quite understand why. It is said that WP:NCORP is not met. However, in that draft, I have demonstrated, using a source assessment table, why I believe that the Bihler company has been the subject of significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. I know that not every source that I have cited falls within the WP:SIRS criteria, but still, I feel that, the number of sources that do, is sufficient. It would be very helpful to have a second thought on this. Any advice is very much appreciated. Thank you! @ User:Novem Linguae. -- Casa Coto (talk) 08:37, 28 August 2025 (UTC)

:I haven't done a detailed analysis yet, but if other reviewers are still declining it, maybe your source assessment table is being too generous. Do all your sources have 3 meaty paragraphs of detail about the company? Are they independent (i.e. no press releases disguised as articles, no articles that are mostly quotations, no advertorials, etc)? Is at least one of the sources regional, national, or international? These are all things needed to pass WP:NCORP and WP:GNG. See also User:Novem Linguae/Essays/Nuances of GNG and User:Novem Linguae/Essays/Novem's words of wisdom #6. It's been 2 months since you submitted this... if you think it passes, maybe submit it again and add a comment asking for detailed source feedback in the event of a decline. Hope this helps. Good luck. –<span style="color:blue">Novem Linguae</span> <small>(talk)</small> 13:52, 28 August 2025 (UTC)
It's not a self promotion and nothing is promoted here for marketing or trying to grab attention .This page was completely re-written without any self praising and just the neutral facts about the subject , The Subject is my father who was a Mathematician and the subject is no more and the facts gathered is by the author who is the son of the subject because the autthor of this page has these information .
:cc Casa Coto. –<span style="color:blue">Novem Linguae</span> <small>(talk)</small> 13:53, 28 August 2025 (UTC)
:Comments on your assessment table:
:* You list the Hesse source as secondary, but describe it as an encyclopedia. That means it's a tertiary source.
:* You assess four sources in total to meet the criteria of reliable, independent, and significant coverage. Those would be good sources, but...
:* it isn't clear that they provide significant coverage of the company, its products, the punch-bending process, or Otto Bihler himself. Those are four different topics, and this draft is about one topic. For example, the Kolbe source discusses the technology and how the machine works, but what about the company, which is the topic of this draft?
:The assessment table is a great start, but reading it only brings up more questions. ~Anachronist <small>(talk)</small> 15:16, 28 August 2025 (UTC)

:::<small>I wasn't saying that they aren't acceptable, although our policies recommend using them more to assess due weight. I was just pointing out an error in the table. ~Anachronist <small>(talk)</small> 16:24, 28 August 2025 (UTC)</small>

Dear Sir/Madam

I would like to clarify few things here about this article

1. I found the reason mentioned for rejection as "Blatant self promotion created by the subject himself." which is totally wrong , as the subject himself is dead and no more , and there is nothing here to promote or gain financial or marketing or monetory benefit out of the subject or subject himself.

2 . This article was created by me ( Son of the Subject), the reason for confusion is that my name resembles similar to my father(Subject) as my father's name is my surname ( Last Name) and the first name is my grandfather's name which is the surname of my father . So it was misinterpreted or misunderstood that the subject is praising himself .

3. I (Author of the article) would like to reiterate that there is no reason for me to gain any benefit here , Its purely the facts/publications collected on behalf of my father and his contribution to the field of Mathematics . I have just listed and organized in a way without adding any praising or peacock words on the subject .
I have taken all measures to write the article neurally without praising the subject in any way and just menetioned his work on the facts collected from various reliable sources.

In case , if you think that there is some praising words about the subject anywhere , Kindly mention those , I will completely remove those words. Please don't reject for that reason .

Kindly consider and re-review the article and allow to publish.
Appreciate your help!

Thanks
Neel

Hello,
I just wrote an article (I translated it from the equivalent English article on Wikipedia) and I want it to be published as the Persian page of the same subject (which is Krater). I think that my article has been published as an English article. I have no idea what to do to correct it.
Thank you for your help.
Arashia1414 (talk) 01:20, 7 September 2020 (UTC)

My draft, "Draft:Radio Duhok," has been declined multiple times due to a lack of "in-depth coverage" from reliable, independent sources, according to the last reviewer.
:Hi Arashia1414. It looks like you've figured out that the place to write Persian articles is not here, but on the Persian-language Wikipedia, specifically :fa:%DA%A9%D8%B1%D8%A7%D8%AA%D8%B1. --Worldbruce (talk) 03:30, 7 September 2020 (UTC)

I have tried my best to find good sources and have included:
Request on 02:10:12, 7 September 2020 for assistance on AfC submission by Mandian
1. Two official announcements from the Duhok Governorate's website congratulating the radio on its anniversary.
02:10:12, 7 September 2020 review of submission by Mandian
2. A feature article about the radio in the well-known regional "Gulan Magazine" (Issue 829, 2010), which refers to it as the "authentic voice of the governorate."

Could an experienced editor please take a look at these sources and provide some feedback? I am struggling to understand why these are considered insufficient for notability. Specifically, I would like to know if the Gulan Magazine article is just a "brief mention" and what an example of an "in-depth" source would look like for a subject like this.
<!-- Start of message -->article declined because of no secondary or reliable source. Just wondering if accountant statement can be provided for secondary source?

:::I was the approver. For what it is worth, this was a borderline pass. I felt the subject just meets notability, especially when considering WP:NOTLEVEL (I realize this is not a policy). However, even keeping the COI in-mind (and I have a feeling the disclosed COI may be a "sacrificial lamb" disclosure, and the actual COI may be deeper... But, AGF and all that) I feel that the article was ready for mainspace. Particularly with the additional COI labelling. Anyways, I am of the opinion that we have enough notability to push us over the edge, and that any further discussion regarding the article should take place via AfD. Draft article on Ray Cornbill declined by Padavalamkuttanpilla on grounds that subject doesn't meet notability criteria.
I am requesting assistance with my draft article Draft:Trinity_Private_School. Each word of the text was written manually without the use of AI tools. However, three times I received feedback that the draft was written by AI. I respectfully emphasize that I wrote the article myself, and therefore I ask you to indicate exactly which sentences or parts appear to you as AI-generated.
In addition, I was told that my sources are “not relevant.” Could you please clarify how relevance is determined? For example, The Heritage Private School article was accepted with only one source, while my draft contains 17 independent sources, yet it has not passed review.
Finally, the article cannot be considered promotional, because it contains no evaluative or laudatory language. I removed all subjective judgments and left only verifiable, encyclopedic content supported by citations.
I would greatly appreciate clear feedback on what exactly prevents the draft from being accepted and what specific improvements are required. Newacctowork (talk) 11:32, 29 August 2025 (UTC)

:@Newacctowork: you will note that the most recent decline, by me, was not for AI but for promotionality and lack of any evidence of notability.
Ray Cornbill served as the head coach for the United States national rugby union team.
:You then resubmitted the draft without any attempt at addressing those reasons. Why did you do that? Are you disputing my review, or did you think if you keep submitting it will eventually go through by brute force? You only have finite number of chances, so I would suggest you make the most of them.
:And yes, The Heritage Private School is even weaker in terms of sourcing (in that, it has none), and I have tagged it accordingly. That doesn't mean we should create more insufficiently sourced articles, though. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 12:04, 29 August 2025 (UTC)
::@DoubleGrazing No, I submitted it by accident. Could you please clarify what exactly needs to be fixed? Newacctowork (talk) 12:26, 29 August 2025 (UTC)
:::@Newacctowork: you're normally meant to summarise what the sources say. But on this occasion, those sources are just churnalism etc., therefore summarising them will only ever result in a promotional draft. So you should go back to square one and look for sources that are entirely independent of the subject (meaning no interviews, press releases, advertorials, sponsored content, etc.) and base your draft on them. Personally, I doubt you will find such sources, but nothing to stop you trying. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 12:40, 29 August 2025 (UTC)
::::@DoubleGrazing There is a category, :Category:International schools in Cyprus. Could you provide an example? :::::@Newacctowork: don't concern yourself with any other articles that may exist, we're talking about whether your draft can be accepted; WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS is invariably a red herring.
:::::The long and short of it is that the vast majority of schools are not notable enough to justify an article. At two years old, this school is basically a startup, and the vast majority of startups are likewise not notable. Any media coverage that may exist is therefore almost by definition likely to originate in the school's marketing team, as is clearly the case with the sources cited in this draft. If the school was a major new initiative or an attempt at educational reform by the gov't of Cyprus, there might be independent mainstream media coverage of it, but here we're talking about a niche private school for a particular group of expats. As I said, you're welcome to search for better sources, but I wouldn't hold my breath. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 13:01, 29 August 2025 (UTC)
::::::@DoubleGrazing "No, we are just talking about other articles. When I take another article as a reference, I see that it has far fewer sources than mine, yet it passed. Can this be considered a biased approach? What does the marketing team have to do with it, if there is no link to any commercial offer and not a single word about cost? This is exactly what concerns me: does it comply with Wikipedia rules that a school without media coverage is published, while a school with coverage is not? For Cyprus, these media are public and authoritative. For comparison, my house has also stood since 1987. There are no publications about it — can I publish an article about it without coverage, as others did? :::::::@Newacctowork: no, you cannot "publish an article about it without coverage". Your draft's subject must meet our notability requirements, which it has not yet demonstrated.

Thank you very much for reviewing this item. However, I have some questions need your kind assistance.

Can anyone provide any guidance or input on the latest draft?
Regarding comments on 29 April by editor Paul W, a public media search likely supports relevance/notoriety for Sam Bregman, but that was not established with proper sources and citations.

Earlier entries for Sam Bregman were rejected for relevance, formatting, peacocking and lack of supporting citations. The latest edits attempt to remove problematic text, clean up formatting and citations, comply with tone and informational intentions of Wikipedia entries for public figures, and establish relevance.
First, I think I have edited this item with some published results from Nature, Science or American Chemical Society publishers for last version. However, it had been declined and the comments claimed that wiki does not need that so called pseudo references. Therefore, may I ask more exact question that, for the current item, what kind of reference can be say a "real" needed citing. Or which exact one has what kind of issue.
I read so many other accepted chemists wiki items, references even also included their own research results, which means they are in the publication as the author. This reference can also be regarded as not neutral at all.

It may be helpful to compare with the entry for former Las Cruces Mayor, Ken Miyagishima. Intention of latest edition is to create a similar entry for Bregman, with similar tone and proper support material.
Second, I think what I edited item is nothing related with any bias point of view. Is it possible to show one detail example to explain, which part is not Wiki form?

Hello, and thank you for your time. I need help understanding why the article I submitted was declined for inclusion in wikipedia. I included multiple reliable source references( Independent of the subject) to validate the subjects notablity. Those references included references to the subjects notable achievements and affiliation with other notable artist in Hip Hop music already include in Wikipedia. Was this article fairy reviewed or was it treated with malice because the subject is a Hip Hop artist. I know each article is subject to each reviewers subjective view, but hopefully not to their prejudice. Please indicate to me how I can fix this article so it can become included. I'm confused, according to wikipedia notability guidelines I did everything correctly, and the subject is notable.

I was told to pick the three best sources for demonstrating notability in the Article for Creation: Kurt Kerns (WP:THREE). I did not re-read all the sources that I had compiled before I picked three sources for review (I mostly picked them at random), and thus, the Article was Rejected because it seemed like the strongest sources did not demonstrate notability. I am requesting a re-review of the AfC because I have re-read the sources and am offering three different sources that indeed show that this AfC meets the WP:notability criteria. :JNW21 885 Hi there, it's Wikipedia's page, not yours. The answer to your question is found at the bottom of the draft: "Review waiting, please be patient. This may take 2 months or more, since drafts are reviewed in no specific order. There are 3,351 pending submissions waiting for review." I note that all three reviewers in the past noted that the subject's notability had not been properly established. Have you read our General Notability Guideline? Since the last decline, the changes you made were: some cosmetic stuff; you swapped Newsbreak for a Yahoo press release (which would not qualify as "independent of the subject"); you added a Fox News piece by her, not about her, which wouldn't do anything to establish notability; the Yahoo News video is by her, not about her. You added a Medium.com interview, which is still dependent on the subject, i.e. not independent. This does nothing for establishing notability. I have no idea if Metropolitan magazine is a notable publication, but this too looks like an interview piece. The bottom line here, is that TV personalities may have PR companies that exist to get the subject more familiarity among the public, but these PR moves don't translate to notability. When the subject is notable, PR won't be necessary, and independent entities will write about her without provocation or participation. Please don't resubmit this article for community review until you can definitively establish that she meets our notability criteria, as these constant resubmissions just drain volunteer time. Further, if you have a conflict of interest, like knowing the subject or working for her, or being related to her, or being her, you shouldn't be editing this article anyway, for obvious ethical reasons, and because people with conflicts of interest have difficulty writing objectively about the subject they are conflicted with. Hi, I asked for help reviewing this article. Several moderators helped me, you can see it here (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Help_desk/Archive_70#h-Requesting_a_submission,_how_to_procede?-20250731130700). But I haven’t gotten any more replies. Where can I request another review now that I’ve fixed everything that was pointed out? Thanks! :First of all, good job adding more sources to the article. Based on the current references, I would say the subject is definitely notable. However, the article still reads like an advertisement, and not a neutral encyclopedia article. Hello, I would like some help understanding why my draft was declined. The reviewer noted that the references do not demonstrate notability and that I need more reliable, independent secondary sources.

In my draft, I cited three independent news articles (Kuwait Times, Madhyamam, and Manorama Online) that directly cover the project. I also cited the official company website for technical details (such as the robot’s specifications and ecosystem), since I couldn’t find those details in news reports.

Could the inclusion of the company website as a supporting source have been the problem? If so, am I allowed to use the website only for factual details (like names of components, patent numbers, etc.) while keeping the news articles as the independent coverage that demonstrates notability?
My article has been submitted a few times and is denied every time. I have only used blogs and articles from secondary sources and only state facts about the nonprofit. Reviewers have said that my draft is too much like an advertisement but yet i am only including information from my secondary sources. here is my draft if you have a moment please check it out: MidwayUSA Foundation I'm not sure what else to do, i have even looked at pages such as St Jude Children's Research Hospital which is a very well known nonprofit and their wiki page is full of primary sources straight from their website, and it's full of opinions which i thought arent supposed to be on wiki pages?

Any guidance would be much appreciated.
Thanks for your time,

::::The issue in question when I spoke to the reviewer "Như Gây Mê" was a lack of notability, but it seems even by the most pessimistic metric of evaluation the subject would qualify under Wikipedia's standards. The reviewer replied to me in broken English without sufficiently providing an explanation for their evaluation: "Hi, I think this is not the right time for me to publish your article, the information is still too little to show the notability of the subject." So I'm asking for another staff member to evaluate the notability requirements of the individual/the article and if they do indeed suffice then I believe that yes, the article should be published based on that being the "issue" of the article. If that "asks" for a faster review, then I guess that's the answer? But it was more of a prior concern with how this requirement was being evaluated.

:::::You have resubmitted the draft, and will therefore get a 'second opinion' in due course once a reviewer gets around to assessing it. We don't provide on-demand reviews here at the help desk.
:::::I have no comment to make regarding another reviewer's command of English; nor should you, in my opinion. ::::::Ok, got it. I also just received your message about managing a conflict of interest, and I would like to let you know that there is no personal or professional connection to my subject. I have studied the subject independently through my own research in the last half-decade as his company was rising and falling. This should be clearly evidenced by my neutrality throughout my draft, which highlights both his professional accomplishments as well as evidence that he played a significant role in the eventual bankruptcy of his company. Asf132 (talk) 05:48, 2 September 2025 (UTC)
:::::::Unusually (for me), I reviewed the draft you refer to, and also had to decline it for lack of evidence of notability. Most of the sources are either primary, or cover the View company with only passing mentions of Mulpuri. I believe the only one that provides significant coverage directly about him is this BI piece (also cited for the second time via AOL, for some reason). -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 05:56, 2 September 2025 (UTC)

::::::::::Actually, there were an additional two sources added (one of which was to provide a source for the year, which I will concede is not secondary)) and the other was the Forbes article that was added in with new content (which would count as secondary). Only the second mention of the Business Insider article source was swapped for an equivalent one that aimed to resolve your issue earlier about how it was cited twice (which is what you were referring to, unless you did not see my latest edits). Hello, I noticed the article on APAC Tower was rejected for notability. I would like guidance on whether the coverage I have from independent sources is sufficient, or what additional sources would be needed.

I have few questions.
September 10
1. Do the awards (Fitwel 3-Star 2025, Thailand Property Award) count as notable recognition for the building?
2. Do independent news reports from Bangkok Biz News, RE Talk Asia, and AustCham Thailand establish enough secondary coverage?
3. Would mentioning prominent multinational tenants (Asia Pulp & Paper, Mazda Sales, TOA Electronics) help demonstrate significance?

4. His research is about to be obliterated and is a very important discovery, which I feel must not be lost to the world. (I personally has the 2nd and 3rd books in my house library and can give you some .JPG pictures if needed)
Even if you can help me list it under another Wikipedia heading, this will also be greatly appreciated.

This entry was moved to draft space by OwenX who acknowledged its improvement after several weeks of edits and added citations, writing "I see you've made significant improvements to the draft, both in content and in sourcing" User talk: OwenX#Review for Dr. Mike Abrams (psychologist). I invite anyone to suggest or make improvements or who may feel it is ready to return as an entry where it previously was for several years. I am trying to create a page for the Mishiiken Tribe of Mackinac Island. The first time I submitted it was tagged as appearing to be original research. The second time it was tagged as being written by AI. I did try to use ChatGPT to put things in order and properly format everything, as I find it difficult. Can you tell me what exactly is wrong with it now or how I can fix it? Mamaazhi&#39;iwe (talk) 17:56, 2 September 2025 (UTC)

:Hi @Mamaazhi'iwe. Have you checked the output to make sure that ChatGPT has not made up any content, or stated anything that is not verified by the sources? A Wikipedia article is <u>only</u> a summary of what existing reliable published sources state: nothing more. When you use an AI chatbot to help with drafts they have a habit of adding what we call "original research" or "synthesis": information which is not supported by existing reliable published sources.
<!-- Start of message -->
:I would recommend going through the draft and carefully check every line for any evidence that ChatGPT has added any original research or synthesis. Likewise, if you have included any original research or synthesis, please remove this and focus on only summarising what the existing reliable published sources have stated. <span style="background-color: RoyalBlue; border-radius: 1em; padding: 3px 3px 3px 3px;"><span style="color: GhostWhite">qcne</span> <small><span style="color: GhostWhite">(talk)</span></small></span> 19:18, 2 September 2025 (UTC)

:@Jrpartlowiv Fundamentally you have not proven how this person meets Wikipedia:Criteria for inclusion (people). :Hi Anonymous 1908, the article does not demonstrate that the subject is notable. Notability needs to be established by the subject having significant coverage in reliable sources. At the moment the only sources on the article are google searches (which have no value as a source), and the subject's own profiles on Spotify and Pinterest, which are not independent of the source and so can't establish notability. Perhaps read over Wikipedia:Notability (music) for wikipedia's notability guideline for musicians. Hello, requesting a re-review because this initial submission was made in error. This should've stayed in draft mode. The idea is creating something similar to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mountain_Dew_Amp and go into deeper detail about beverage brand as others have done. If this is against the rules, I understand.

:Hi @Jcgaylor. You've submitted the draft for review - but you will note that the top of the draft states This may take 7 weeks or more, since drafts are reviewed in no specific order. There are 2,139 pending submissions waiting for review. <span style="background-color: RoyalBlue; border-radius: 1em; padding: 3px 3px 3px 3px;"><span style="color: GhostWhite">qcne</span> <small><span style="color: GhostWhite">(talk)</span></small></span> 19:14, 2 September 2025 (UTC)

:Hi Bcmonroe, a significant problem with the article is that the tone is overly-promotional. "With ten delicious flavors containing zero sugar, sodium, carbs, and calories, C4 Energy offers a better-for-you way to overachieve and outperform on a daily basis." reads like an advertisement, not an encyclopedia article <span style="color: #00b040; font-family: Segoe script, helvetica"><b>Pi</b></span> <span style="font-size: 9pt; color: #0040b0; font-family: Segoe script, helvetica"><i>(Talk to me!)</i></span> 23:56, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
:::But, that's what a review is for: to give feedback on how to improve it. You're asking for a prereview, which we don't really do. However, what might make it easier for reviewers to review the draft is for you to highlight on the Draft Talk Page the three (and only three) best sources that each meet: independent of the commission (not based off their website, or a press release, or an interview with staff, or any kind of primary source); devote significant transformational coverage to the commission (some kind of critical analysis, debate, discussion, commentary etc). <span style="background-color: RoyalBlue; border-radius: 1em; padding: 3px 3px 3px 3px;"><span style="color: GhostWhite">qcne</span> <small><span style="color: GhostWhite">(talk)</span></small></span> 19:22, 2 September 2025 (UTC)

Hello - I am working on behalf of ITTF Foundation (a sports foundation) - already clarified on my page my affiliation - and have been running into the same issues with a few submissions, especially this one. Can you please help me understand how I can improve this page in order to be accepted? I guess it needs to be in a more formal tone, with a more neutral point of view? :The trouble you are having (which is common for others like you) is that you are telling us what you want the world to know about your organization. That's the wrong approach; instead you need to limit yourself to summarizing what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about your organization, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable organization. Interviews, press releases, brief mentions, and the reporting of routine activities does not establish notability. 331dot (talk) 21:12, 2 September 2025 (UTC)

I’d like to clarify that I’m not socking and I’m not involved in undisclosed paid editing. I’m a new editor who went through drafts, and submitted this page because TBPN has received significant coverage in reliable sources (added NYT and Bloomberg newsletter/podcast, to go along with Business Insider, The Information, Bloomberg Businessweek, and The Washington Post)

If there are concerns with tone, structure, or how I’ve presented the sources, I’d really appreciate advice on how best to bring this draft in line with Wikipedia’s expectations. I want to make sure I’m following policy and improving the draft the right way. Wikimonday2 (talk) 21:37, 2 September 2025 (UTC)
