A '''suzu''' is a [[Shinto]] religious bell charm, similar to the [[omamori]]. Some depict gods and heroes while other designs such as lotuses are inspired by nature. Another common motif is the Shinto symbol mitsu [[tomoe]]. Gods available in suzus include Surutahiko, Ame-no-Uzume, Amaterasu, Inari, and Hotei. The suzu is usually bronze in color but can be silver, gold, or red. Suzus offer luck and proectection and address different prayers. Many Shintoists cary suzus with them when they are away from a shrine or home altar called a [[kamidana]]. They are often worn on the wrist or carried by purse/pocket.
