One of the largest and oldest Linux User Groups in [[Australia]], it was incorporated in 1993 as a [[not for profit]] group. LUV also holds a Beginner's Workshop on the third Saturday of the month at [http://www.vpac.org/ VPAC].

The committee is democratically elected each year in advance of the Annual General Meeting using free election software called [http://www.flamingspork.com/projects/memberdb/ MemberDB]. The positions are President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer, as well as four ordinary committee members - the current committee members are listed on the website.
