Esiste anche una fazione Ronin, ribelli con colore bianco. Non è una fazione giocabile nella campagna, e non è nemmeno possibile usare diplomazia (richieste di alleanza o di libero passaggio sui territori). È possibile giocare nei panni dei Ronin soltanto nelle battaglie personalizzate.
Una volta installata l'espansione Mongols, i mongoli saranno giocabili come nona fazione. Gli Hojo saranno rappresentanti principali dei nemici dei Mongoli stessi, sotto forma dello shogunato [[Kamakura]]
