42 Armoured Regiment was raised in January 1981(Even though the regiment has roots to pre WWI era under different names).
Its slogan is "karma shourya vijaya"- which means work, valour ,victory.It is commanded by an officer of the rank of Colonel. It has in its history some very bright and brave officers,reflecting the high regimental standards, who went on to do well later in their career and lives.The men are very passionate about their regiment and squadrons.
