Considering most spruce simply refer to the group as broadly Islamist or moderate, the one credible source referring to the group as Salafist in 2012 was either representative of the groups ideology at the time which then evolved to a more classical Islamist vision, or it was wrong, and the claim Isn’t substantiated by the actual recoding they got it from, is overall it’s a safer bet to refer to the group as Islamist with salafist factions as not to discount the possibility.
