Goldust torna a combattere partecipando alla [[WWE Royal Rumble 2013|Royal Rumble 2013]] con il numero 8, venendo però eliminato dal fratello [[Cody Rhodes]].

Il 9 settembre torna a [[WWE Raw|Raw]] per sfidare il campione WWE [[Randy Orton]] con la stipulazione speciale secondo la quale, in caso di vittoria, il fratello Cody avrebbe riottenuto il posto di lavoro perso la settimana precedente per opera di [[Triple H]]. Al termine di un incontro spettacolare viene però sconfitto.
