The [[Fairfield_County%2C_Connecticut|Fairfield County]] Sherrifs Department was in place until around the year 2000. It served as a law enforcement service wich acted as security for the county court houses and transportation of prisoners for the county untill recently in the year 2000 when [[Connecticut]] eliminated any form of county government(exept for representation in congress and a county court system). Now, instead of a county sheriff, [[Fairfield_County%2C_Connecticut|Fairfield County]] has it's own county branch of the [[Connecticut]] state [[Marshal#United_States|Marshall]] wich carries out [[Warrant_%28law%29|leagl warrants]] put out by the [[Connecticut]] state court system. and the [[Fairfield_County%2C_Connecticut|Fairfield County]] court system that are in [[Fairfield_County%2C_Connecticut|Fairfield County]],[[Connecticut]].
