He was selected with the 12th overall pick in the [[2005 NFL Draft]] out of the [[University of Maryland, College Park]]. He was famous for being the first player to ever miss the rookie orientation, due to being uncomfortable with the injury clause. He is represented by the infamous Poston Brothers, who were unable for several years to get Orlando Pace a long-term contract (and he had to sign several consecutive "franchise" on year contracts until he fired the brothers and got a $50+ million dollar deal) and also (even though they were lawyers) did not read the contract signed by Lavar Arrington, where there was no signing bonus.
