Line 3:
An [[ocean liner]] is the traditional form of passenger ship, apart from smaller craft used for coastal voyages and as ferries;in the latter part of the twentieth century it has given way to the [[cruise ship]] as the predominant form in existence.
For a long time cruise ships were never as large as the old ocean liners had been, but in the 1990s this changed and new cruise ships in succession begame the largest passsenger ships ever built, superseding the records held by old Cunard liners.
