Crud: Ais a fast-paced game purported to originate in the Royal Canadian Air Force (and popular with the United States Air Force) played on a pool or snooker table using the cue ball (the "shooter"), and anyome other pool ball (the "object ball"), and no cues. Only the corner pockets on the table are used, the side pockets are blocked. Crud is played by two teams. Each team member has three "lives." Only one member of each team is at the pool table at a time. One player rolls the shooter at the object ball while their opponent defends by attempting to distract the player. The shooter can only be thrown from one of the short ends of the table (i.e. not the sides with the blocked side pockets). If the shooter misses the object ball for three tries, they lose a life. If the object ball is struck, then it is their opponent's turn to pick up the shooter. If their opponent is unable to hit the object ball with the shooter before the object ball either stops motion or goes in a pocket, the opponent loses a life. Once the opponent has shot, the next player on the original team shoots. Teams keep trading off until the object ball is sunk or stops, or if there is a foul. Two typical fouls are touching the object ball, or shooting from one of the long sides of the table ("balls"). After someone loses a life, the person who would have been next in sequence begins shooting again. A contact version of Crud called "Combat Crud" is sometimes played, which allows full checking and blocking similar to what one finds in hockey. This is one of the only situations where junior grade officers are allowed to knock over Generals and not get in trouble for it, and is therefore quite popular.

CRUD is also the name of a New Jersey nihilist author/musician whose transgressive literature will soon have the Department of Homeland Security fast on his heels. Sometimes called Crudfucker or Lowlife Crud, this artist splits his time between two jobs, the reservoir, the Lower East Side and the bathroom, respectively.
