West Godavari is a district in [[Andhra Pradesh]] in [[India]]. Indicated by the name, it is situated on the westren side of the [[River Godavari River]]. Its headquarters is [[Eluru]]. Other important places in the district are Bhimavaram and Tadepalligudem. The famous [[Kolleru Lake|Kolleru lake]], one of the largest fresh water lakes in [[Asia]] and habitat for up to 50,000 resident and migratory [[bird]]s, os located in the district.
