:If you compare the two maps you will see the second outlines the area of Kashmir that is divided between the neighbouring countries. If you look at [[:Template:Location map India]] it clearly shows the areas governed and claimed by India.
:Kashmir is divided between India and Pakistan and claimed by both. The map for India outlines the contested area under Pakistani (and Chinese) control. The Png map delineates areas under Indian control. The SVG map makes no such distinction and only delineates the [[:Northern Areas]] and [[:Azad Kashmir]] from [[:Pakistan]] - but doesn't do similarly for Indian territory. See [http://www.un.org/Depts/Cartographic/map/profile/kashmir.pdf this] map for the full area. For the sake of balance both locator maps for the two nations should delineate the contested areas.
