* "What's up, dog?" (Curse of the Were-Rabbit)
Wallace also has an undoubted love for Wendoline Ramsbottom, owner of the high street woolshop. But she asked him to stop seeing her after the incident with Preston and the Knit-o-matic.
Gromit
Gromit lives with Wallace. His birthday is 12th February, and he graduated from "Dogwarts University" (cf. Hogwarts of the Harry Potter universe). He likes knitting, reading the newspaper, his alarm clock, bone, brush and framed photo of himself with Wallace. He is shown in the movie "Curse Of The Were-Rabbit" as adept enough at gardening to grow a giant marrow in his specially designed greenhouse (his access code is 8425). He is also very handy with electronic equipment (a grommet is a piece of electrical wiring insulation, a term Nick Park picked up from his brother, an electrician), and is sensitive, intelligent and resourceful. He doesn't express himself in words but his facial expressions -- particularly his eyebrow -- speak volumes. Nick Park, his creator says: "We are a nation of dog-lovers and so many people have said: 'My dog looks at me just like Gromit does!'" and... "Gromit was originally the name for a cat in another story!" Gromit enjoys eating 'KornFlakes' and reading many books including The Republic, by Pluto (sic); Crime and Punishment, by Fido Dogstoevsky; Men are from Mars, Dogs are from Pluto; Electronics For Dogs and Sheep. He also listens to Bach and solves puzzles with ease. His ability to extricate his inventive but clumsy master from calamity closely parallels the relationship between Inspector Gadget and his dog Brain.
Many critics believe that Gromit's silence makes him the perfect straight man with a pantomime expressiveness that drew favorable comparisons to Buster Keaton.
