Date autoformatting example ready for testing: Suggestion for examples in the specification.
Line 943:

I think maybe I figured out what you were getting at. Did you mean that examples like "<nowiki>The best of times was [[10 September]] [[2001]]; the worst of times began the next day</nowiki>" should be rendered as "The best of times was September 10, 2001; the worst of times began the next day" in MDY and ''not'' as "The best of times was September 10,2001,; the worst of times began the next day" as might be the case if the comma was ''always'' added after MDY dates? If that's what you were discussing, then rest assured that it works fine on the demo system. Please continue making comments in the new section below, since we're now dealing with an updated version of the software (and this section is way too long). --[[User:UC Bill|UC_Bill]] ([[User talk:UC Bill|talk]]) 21:07, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

As a suggestion, and wherever a specific date is not required, it would be better to use an example date in which the day number is greater than 12. For example, on the demo page, 2009-01-31 would be better as an example than 2009-01-01. By doing this, there will never be an example where the resulting day and month can be confused. Hopefully that will help lead to a tighter specification.
