According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the CDP has a total area of 41.5 [[square kilometer|km²]] (16.0 [[square mile|mi²]])., 41.5 km² (16.0 mi²) of it isall land and none of it is covered by water.

==Demographics==

As of the [[census]]{{GR|2}} of 2000, there were 5,366 people, 1,358 households, and 1,076 families residing in the CDP. The [[population density]] was 129.2/km² (334.7/mi²). There were 1,644 housing units at an average density of 39.6/km² (102.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 91.28% [[Race (U.S.United States censusCensus)|Native American]], 6.39% [[Race (U.S.United States censusCensus)|White]], 0.19% [[Race (U.S.United States censusCensus)|Black]] or [[Race (U.S.United States censusCensus)|African American]], 0.17% [[Race (U.S.United States censusCensus)|Asian]], 0.04% [[Race (U.S.United States censusCensus)|Pacific Islander]], 0.60% from [[raceRace (U.S.United States censusCensus)|other races]], and 1.34% from two or more races. 1.83% of the population were [[Race (U.S.United States censusCensus)|Hispanic]] or [[Race (U.S.United States censusCensus)|Latino]] of any race.

There were 1,358 households out of which 52.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 42.6% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 30.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.7% were non-families. 18.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 2.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.84 and the average family size was 4.43.
