* There's no requirement that new WikiProjects go through a formal proposal process; the mechanism is in place to assist editors uncertain of whether a WikiProject should be created, not to prevent them from doing so. So, from a procedural standpoint, a "retrospective" request isn't really necessary; if the project has been created and is active, then there's no real reason why it would need any sort of "approval".
More generally, though, I wonder if perhaps the number of articles specific to the OS itself might be too small to sustain a full WikiProject? Perhaps it would be better to combine all the individual OS-level projects as task forces of either WikiProject Computing or a new WikiProject Operating systems? *:Very useful comments. Thanks for clarifying. The task force scenario is exactly the sort of thing which could do with tidying up. -- Trevj (talk) 11:59, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
* I've had a look at your project and am impressed with the initiative you've taken. I am concerned that the topic is too narrow to sustain the project in the long term. Making it a task force under WP:COMP would keep the project from every becoming an orphan. --Kvng (talk) 13:34, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
