Tribes Hill is located at 42°57'9" North, 74°17'26" West (42.952392, -74.290590)[[Geographic references|¹]].

According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the town has a total area of 6.2 [[square kilometer|km²]] (2.4 [[square mile|mi²]]). 5.9 km² (2.3 mi²) of it is land and 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 5.00% water.

As of the [[census]] of [[2000]], there are 1,024 people, 417 households, and 303 families residing in the town. The [[population density]] is 173.4/km² (449.3/mi²). There are 436 housing units at an average density of 73.8 persons/km² (191.3 persons/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 96.78% White, 0.78% [[African American]], 0.78% [[Native American]], 0.68% [[Asia|Asian]], 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.10% from other races, and 0.88% from two or more races. 0.88% of the population are [[Hispanic]] or [[Latino]] of any race.
