Lyle is located at 45°41'45" North, 121°16'56" West (45.695845, -121.282279)[[Geographic references|¹]].

According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the town has a total area of 8.8 [[square kilometer|km²]] (3.4 [[square mile|mi²]]). 8.8 km² (3.4 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

As of the [[census]] of [[2000]], there are 530 people, 221 households, and 152 families residing in the town. The [[population density]] is 60.4/km² (156.5/mi²). There are 260 housing units at an average density of 29.6 persons/km² (76.8 persons/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 87.55% White, 0.00% [[African American]], 1.89% [[Native American]], 0.94% [[Asia|Asian]], 0.38% Pacific Islander, 4.91% from other races, and 4.34% from two or more races. 7.55% of the population are [[Hispanic]] or [[Latino]] of any race.
