As of the [[census]] of [[2000]], there are 1,975 people, 734 households, and 566 families residing in the township. The [[population density]] is 21.7/km² (56.2/mi²). There are 806 housing units at an average density of 8.9/km² (22.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 96.76% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.46% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.30% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.61% [[AsiaAsian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.05% [[Pacific Islander (U.S. Census)|Pacific Islander]], 0.00% from other races, and 1.82% from two or more races. 0.41% of the population are [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race.
