Line 31:
"real school". This has been done by adding several things a "real school" would have. There was, for example, a winter formal dance held in February of 2006, similar to nearby high schools Arthur Hill and Saginaw High. SASA has also instituted a prom, student council, and the potential of a homecoming at the next school year.

Some have doubted the 'magnet school' reputation of SASA is valid, possibly due to the retirement of some of the better teachers, having far fewer students compared to other schools, (just under 100 high school students, compared to over a thousand for neighboring Arthur Hill) and a severe lack of funding, but the school consistenly wins awards at the local, state and national level.
