Line 22:
Each telescope is instrumented with a camera made up of 256 PMTs (photomultiplier tubes) which are sensitive to ultra violet light
generated by a cosmic ray air shower.

In 2013, 10 new telescopes were added to the Middle Drum (northern Telescope Array) site. These new telescopes look above the
original 14 telescopes at that site. Thus the site now views 3-59 degrees in elevation. By looking higher into the sky
the telescopes are now able to observe shower maximum for lower energy events, thus enabling the experiment to make chemical
composition and energy measurements over a much larger range of incident particle energies.
