{{afc comment|1=The lead must explain - in fairly simple language - what this thing is. The word "code" has far too many different meanings - Morse code, bar code, highway code, honor code, secret code, etc - all mean totally different things, so it needs a fuller explanation. The lead should be written so that someone with no previous specialist knowledge of the topic can at least get a basic grasp on what the subject is about. The first sentence should be "Serial concatenated convolutional codes (SCCC) are.... and give a definition, rather than an arbitrary historical factoid then also explain what it is used for. Keep in mind that the average WP readers have no more than a high-school level education in any particular subject area - the lead should be written for them.
