Ezhiki, it was previously discussed [[Portal:Ukraine/Ukraine-related_Wikipedia_notice_board#Category:Cities_in_Ukraine_and_Category:Towns_in_Ukraine|[1]]] and [[Talk:List_of_cities_in_Ukraine|[2]]]. I think this goes back to [[User:Ezhiki|Ëzhiki's]] earlier question about the distinction between cities and towns. The short answer, is that we relate "мiста" with cities and "селище міського типу" with towns. Basically, since a town is generally ''[[town|thought of as larger than a village but smaller than a "city"]]'' and can represent a population ''[[town|from a few hundred to several thousands]]'', it approximates the description of a CMT. Am I to understand then, that "город" would not be used for a Russian city, like "мiстo" would be used in Ukrainian? --[[User:Tufkaa|tufkaa]] 21:26, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
