:::The IVI docs say both "Standard Commands for Programmable Instrumentation (SCPI) Consortium" and "Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments (SCPI)". But it looks to me like SCPI is the official name, and the backronym is just that. And they call it a language, not a protocol. All very confusing.
