:wasn't my dad, by my grand father. my dad was [[Chasseurs alpins|Alpine Hunter]] in the french alps. My grand father lived in the French Algeria colony (it was actually called a "département"). I'll ask my father and uncle about that. Already heard the ship's name, remember it was famous (found pictures on google years ago), but i can't remember its name now. i'll just ask and told you. my father and grand father lived in Arzew (aka Arzeu, aka Arziw aka St.Leu). US troops came in Arzew in 1942 but my grand father was in the navy for years (my father was born four years later). they seemed to have fought there: [[http://www.takegreatpictures.com/content/images/tip1_4745.jpg here is an US Ranger in the outskirts of Arzew]].
