The first Director IIAP was the mathematician [[Sergey Mergelyan]]. Many scholars worked in the Computing Center in diverse research fields of cybernetics and applied mathematics.
Among them were [[Sergey Mergelyan]], [[Ashot Petrosian]], [[Rom Varshamov]] and [[Igor Zaslavski]].
