Early life

Laleh Eskandari is an Iranian actress who has had an extensive career in film, television and other artistic fields. She was born in 1975 in the east of Iran. In 1995, she started her studies at university in the field of graphic and was graduated in 1999.The first time she played a role was in front of her uncle's camera and the second time was eighteen years later in a short documentary film. That film was about the first Iranian actress (i.e. Roohangiz Saminjad) and she played her role.

She made her film debut in two years later with the "Born under Libra" and she made her television debut in 2000 and became famous with the series so called ‘The Red Soil’ (2000). She has played in more than 25 films and series up to the present.

Laleh Eskandari is also a professional painter and photographer. She has held many photography exhibitions around the world such as in California, Sweden and etc. In addition to these major activities, she has performed many artistic mosaic project in Tehran, the capital of Iran under the support of Cultural& Art Organization of Tehran Municipality.

Some of her activities in photography, painting and mosaic works are as follows:

PHOTOGRAPHY:

She was interested in photography since her childhood. She took her first pictures at the age of thirteen and she continued photography after entrance into university in a professional way.

She always has her camera with her in order to catch interesting events which take place around. Her photo collection is mostly taken - from her travels and all her exhibition photos are also from her travels all around the world.

Laleh has held some exhibition photos in Iran and many foreign countries such as US,, Sweden and other countries as well.

She started painting under the supervision of Mr. Hossein Maher in 1995. Up to present, she has attended in several group exhibitions with her colleagues in many different galleries

This technique has a very old background in Iran: using broken tiles and mosaics together and creating a unique performance.

Laleh Eskandari has been working in this field since 1995. She has also held several courses as a teacher at mosaic work. The technique is so beautiful and an artistic spiritual is hidden in it. It should be mentioned that she has had several personal exhibitions and artistic collaboration with Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization of Iran in the capital city of "Tehran" for some big urban designs to make the city more attractive.
